FOTD - Easy & Quick products ft. Kiko eyeshadow stick & Clinique Chubby Stick

Hi Everyone :)

I really enjoy dark berry lips with smokey eyes but let's be honest, it takes a bit of time. I think during the colder months, bold brows, smokey eyes with lots of mascara, flawless base and a dark lip is just perfect. However it takes a little longer til put all this makeup on my face. I found few products that are quick and easy to use and give that 'pull together' look within minutes.

I used the Chanel Perfection Lumére Velvet Foundation and the Nars Raidiance Creamy Concealer for a good and natural coverage. I have been enjoying the Chanel foundation alot recently, I should definitely do a little post about it.
For bold brows I used the Rimmel Brow This Way, wax and powder duo. I am really liking this so far. It is in the shade Medium brown, it is a little to dark for me but I could not find a lighter shade in the store. I think bolder and darker brows are great for autumn/winter. This brow duo is good, I prefer a pencil to be honest but with the right tools this is great.
I always have to use a eyeshadow primer and today I used the Too Faced Shadow Insurance.
The quick fix for eyeshadow is the shadow stick. I used KIKO Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick in number 38 Golden Taupe. In my last post I spoke about a different KIKO shadow stick. They are just so easy to blend out and last all day!
I used a L'Oréal Color Riche L'Ombre Pure Eyeshadow in my inner corner as a highlighter. I don't have the name of the color in front of  me right now but like I said in my last post, you should be expecting a post with all the shadows I have :)
I used the MAC eyeliner on the waterline to make it a little darker and then applied loads of mascara.

The mascara I am using is the Dior Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Waterproof. I was going to do a separate post on this mascara because last year I was obsessed over another Dior mascara so I decided to try this one out. It is rubbish, for the price, no good. It crumbles down all over my face and just looks bad. It does not hold curl at all like most waterproof mascaras. It does not apply nicely and just don't bother buying this! (haha I just had to be brutally honest here!)

Anyway...
The second quick fix product is the Clinique Chubby Stick Intense moisturising lip color balm (omg long name) in 09 Roundest Raspberry. It is a beautiful raspberry shade that is so flattering.
I used the Benefit Christmas Set for my cheeks (Hoola bronzer and Dandelion blush) You can find a little review and pictures about that here.

The two products that really make the look are the KIKO eyeshadow stick and the Clinique Chubby Stick. Both these products are quick, easy and very convenience for everyday use. I just apply the KIKO stick and blend it out with my fingers. The lipstick is very winter appropriated and since it is a chubby stick it goes on really easily. the shade is such a beautiful raspberry color. I love both products and the KIKO shadow is called Golden Taupe on the website. It is a taupe shade with gold shimmer, the shimmer is not super obvious but it does give it a great dimension.

What are your favorite easy and quick products?

Saturday's Autumn FOTD with Kiko Water Eyeshadows

Hi Everyone, I was playing around with some Kiko eyeshadows I bought few weeks ago. I am definitely going back to get more because these are amazing.

The shadows are the Kiko Water Eyeshadows, you can either use them wet or dry. I used them dry today but I am definitely going to try them wet as well.

They are so soft, creamy and blend like a dream. I love the pattern and the 3D effect, just look how pretty they are! The packaging is sleek black and they have a little mirror in the lid which is always a bonus.
I got the shades 203 Burgundy and 205 Chocolate.

I used Burgundy on the inner half of my eyelid and then the chocolate shade on my outer half. I just blended the shadows like crazy and had a little help from my Urban Decay Naked Basic 2 for my highlighter on my brow bone and inner corner, also the shade Cover to help blend the shades together. I used the Chocolate shade on my lower lash line to give it a smokey look.

The rest of the products I used:

I used the Max Factor Facefinity All Day Flawless Foundation (review here) and the Dior Skin Star Concealer, I am still testing the concealer out, I will let you what I think about it in a post soon. To set my foundation I used the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder, I am really on the fence about this powder, I don't know if it is worth the money :/ I am still playing around with it so, again I will let you know how I am getting on with it.
For my blush I used MAC Blush All Day and I love this natural/mauve/dusty blush for Autumn.
I used the MUA Luxe felt tip liner on my upper lash line and a Nars eyeliner on my waterline.
I used the L'oreal eyebrow pencil to fill in my brows and I really like this pencil.

My lipstick is my current favorite nude lip and that is the YSL Rouge Volupte in number 1 Beige. Honestly one of the prettiest nude color I have ever used.

I forgot to take a picture of the Naked Basic 2 palette but like I mentioned earlier in this post I used couple of shades to highlight and blend the eyeshadows. My mascara is also missing from the picture but I used the Maybelline Falsies mascara.

So here you have it :) Autumn inspired FOTD

Thanks for reading and if you have any great recommendations for great Autumn eyeshadows please let me know :)

FOTD with a First Impression of MUA Lash Boom Mascara

Hi Everyone,

I know I have been missing lately but there is just so much going on in my life. Literally I am almost having a nervous break down. I am taking a little step back and just breathing right now which includes not taking an exam on Monday but taking the 'sickness' test instead which is in the beginning of March.

I am doing well in Uni but it is crazy, you have to do well all the time and right now I just want to give up!

So when life hands you mouldy lemons you have to throw them away and find yourself fresh ones and make lemon juice!

(ignore the cheesy bit to this, but I just have too hah)

Anyway so for today I am staying home, surprise surprise... though I have to go and see the doctor. I have hurt my finger some how few days ago and it has just been swelling up really badly and now my hand is hurting like crazy. I have a hard time writing when I am studying so I am just going to see what is going on before my hand falls off. (it has happened, I read it on the Internet ._. )

Since blogging and makeup makes me happy I took couple of snaps of my makeup today and I wanted to try out a new mascara that has been sitting in my draw.

The mascara I am trying out today for the first time is the MUA Lash Boom, Volume and Length Mascara.

It retails for £3 and you can find it online here or in Superdrug stores.

I am not sure how I feel about this mascara, as you can see it did nothing to my eyelashes. It did not give me any length, just a little volume.

I thought the brush, which is supposed to be the unique aspect of this mascara is just a little weird. The ball at then end which I think is supposed to give you volume was just clumping with too much product. I felt like I only applied product with the ball, like the mascara wand was just very short. But then when I started using the whole wand the ball was just making the lashes very clumped.
However I have very straight lashes and if it is not a waterproof formula or just an amazing mascara it won't really do anything for me.
So if you have great lashes, this mascara might be fine.
I think the formula is just basic and sometimes when I just want a little definition for my lashes, I don't mind not using a waterproof mascara this is the sort of mascara I will use.
I will have to use it more since this is just the first time I am using it. So keep in mind this is just my first impression, maybe I am using it in a wrong way?
Do you have the Lash Boom mascara and what do you think of it? Please let me know :D

So as for the rest of my face I used the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation as a base, I am still trying this foundation out and so far I really like it. it is very light and a natural finish. For my pretty dark under eye circles I used the MAC Pro Longwear concealer and also on few spots where I needed extra coverage.

To warm up my face and give myself a light contour I used the Body Shop Honey Bronzer. It is the lightest color and completely matte. My blush is the FashionistA blush in London. Such a glowing peachy/pink color.
The only eyeshadow I used all over the eyelid is the L'Oreal Color Appeal Eyeshadow in Platinum Beige number 152. You can read my review on it here. I had forgotten how bright and beautiful this shade is. I just used my fingers to apply it very quickly.

I used MAC Omega eyeshadow to fill in my eyebrows. I am liking using this shadow but I feel like it might be not enough ashy-toned for my eyebrows.
And then of course I tried out the MUA Lash Boom mascara and on my lips I have one of my favorite of the moment, NYX lip gloss in Beige.

Well that was that, I am back from the doctor and basically I have to go back on Monday if the swelling has not gone down, I did get some medicine but she was not really sure what is going on.. (the finger is falling off....)

Thanks for reading!

January Favorites 2014 (late I know...)

Hi Everyone!

I really wanted to get this post up before it is too late and I think I might be too late. My personal life has been so busy and in the last couple of weeks it has changed a lot. But still I want to get back on track on blogging!

January was such a long month! I thought it would never end haha and now February is almost half way through and I feel like it is the 1st of Feb. Here are the products I enjoyed using almost every day through January.

There is a nice mixture between high end and drugstore makeup this month, I used a lot of MAC products since I got soo much MAC stuff for Christmas.I also used the same mascara all month and fell in love with a drugstore lip gloss :)

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer - Amazing concealer, that's all there is to say! I will do like a before and after photo of my dark circles and then you will agree haha. I have been wearing it almost every day and so far I think it will be a stable product from now on.

MUA Intense Kisses in Lips are sealed - Who knew this lipgloss would be this great. I am not a lipgloss kind of person, I prefer lipstick but this lipgloss is so soft and creamy on the lips. It is very pigmented and keeps my lips just very moisturised. Love the pink shade of it as well.

Maybelline Falsies Mascara - I used to have this mascara like two years ago and then I loved it and I still love it. I need to do like a before and after pictures with this mascara. It just makes my lashes look so nice.

Chanel Lipstick in Saga- I love this lipstick, it is just one of the perfect everyday lipstick that makes you look well put together. It feels great and I really love the formula of it.

Elf eyeliner and too faced eyeliner - this eyeliner duo was a stable this month, I did a post just with these two eyeliner and definitely go and check it out here and see the swatches. The too faced eyeliner is so black and waterproof, I just can't get over it!

Mac Mineralized skinfinish Natural - No matter what foundation I wore I used this powder to set it. It gives a natural finish but still keeps it matte. It also gives me a little extra coverage without looking cakey

Mac palette - I loved this palete last month, I did a post on it here where I talked about it. To be fair it is expensive but is very special to me. In February I will post four looks with this palete that I did in January. I wore it non stop for like two weeks. You can get super natural look with these shades or a bit more edgy. The eye shadows are very soft and pigmented. The colors I have are Kid, Naked Lunch, Antique and Satin Taupe.

-
Well, even though it is so late it still are products that I have been loving lately!
I hope to do a update post soon since I have been MIA for like two weeks now

Mani-Monday... Chanel with Glitter!

Hi Everyone!

Happy Monday! Even though it is super late it is still Monday.. I had work this morning and then a bit of school but then Iceland was competing in handball (big game) and me and my friend had to watch it so we went and got a burger and cider while the rest of the girls sat in class (lol) and then we all went out for super nice dinner to celebrate a inside joke, it was super nice and I had such a great time. This Monday has been amazing! Hope the rest of the week will be the same.

Anyway, I was wearing one of my top winter nail polish from Chanel on my nails but since I bought a new nail polish from the Gwen Stefani line from OPI, I had to apply it on top. The pictures do not do it justice since the glitter is amazing.

I spoke about the Chanel Nail polish in Blue Satin in my top Favorite Winter Nail polishes (link here)

It is such a beautiful color.
The star is the OPI Gwen Stefani Nail polish called In True Stefani Fashion and it is a clear based glitter, the glitter is tiny silver particles and chunky holographic pieces.

I love love love the glitter polish! I am a total glitter addict and I am thinking about going to get more of the nail polishes from the OPI Gwen Stefani collection.
Have you picked up any polish from the collection?

Thanks for reading, I have to go to sleep now, or at least take off my makeup...
btw, I got two deliverys today! Haul comming soon :D

Top Five Friday - Winter Nail Polish

Hi everyone!

Time for the first installation of Top Five Favorites on a Friday!
Everyone is starting to talk about spring but right now it is total winter here in Iceland (and yes before you ask, we do have spring and summer).

I wanted to share with you my Top Five Winter Nail Polishes.

I did have a difficult time to narrow it down to only five, for me I think the perfect winter shade is a deep, dark color. I wear all kind of nail polishes all year around but when I sat down in front of my nail polishes these were the ones that really stood out to me.

The first two are both from OPI. I love OPI, I think these are high quality nail polishes and they stay on for a good amount of time.

The one on the left is Midnight in Moscow, this is a very dark color with red micro-glitter that makes it look Burgundy in some light and in other almost black. You can see pictures of it here :)
The one on the right is from the Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 Collection and is called Cute Little Vixen, this is a dark metallic pink witch in some light looks red/purple.
I will do a NOTD with it soon :)

From Left to right :

Inglot Nail Polish number 371, I hate when products don't have a name, but anyway this is a dark smokey Brown shade which also has a Pink/purple iridescent shimmer.
I was wearing it the other day and it was impossible to get a nice picture, hopefully I can do a post with it soon.

Chanel in Blue Satin is sooo perfect. It is dark blue and in low lighting it looks almost black but in daylight it has such a pretty blue shimmer to it. I will post a mani-monday with it next Monday but I had to add a little glitter that I just bought from the OPI Gwen Stefani collection, you will see soon, soo pretty.

The last one is Barry M Gelly, Hi-shine Nail paint in Watermelon! Green nail polishes are one of my favorite and this one is so beautiful. This nail polish is so shiny and opaque. High quality for a great price!
It is such a deep green color and I really think it looks a bit different than the normal dark nail polish in the winter.
Check out the Mani-Monday I did with this nail polish here, it looks soo shiny!

There you have it!
What are your favorite Winter nail polishes? I would love to hear any of your recommendations :)
Also if you have any ideas about Top Five Friday, what I can do, let me know...

The Sunday Post - My little love affair with Chanel

Hi Everyone

It's like one in the morning and I am far behind on my stu-dying, so instead of stressing out I decided to do the one thing that relaxes me... blogging..  a little rumble Sunday post.

I wanted to share with you my little love affair with Chanel makeup. I would probably say I was more of a high street/drugstore kind of gal but I do love high-end brands, I have a good selection of high-end make up and last year my addiction started for real, and the brand that I want everything from is Chanel.

I was gifted a Chanel nail polish in Satin Blue and a Chanel lip gloss in 427, I fell in love!

I had to convince myself to get a Chanel lipstick, (only because I have way too many lipsticks) but it took me about 5 minutes and I bought my first one.

My first Chanel lipstick was the Rouge Allure in Pirate. This is the most perfect red lipstick ever. Pirate is just perfect. No other word to describe this lipstick.
I got it when my sister was in London with me :)
A day before I move back to Iceland, me and Ethan went to Oxford street and had a massive shopping day! and that day I got the Rouge Coco Shine in Saga, it is the perfect every day pink lipstick, I decided that if I could only have one lipstick for the rest of my life this would be it. (and the red one as well, who only has one lipstick)

I love buying new makeup and when I buy more expensive beauty products I like to do it on a special occation.

The best part about both these lipsticks is that I got both of thm for free! I used my Boots points. :)

I know this is only the start to my little affair with Chanel, there is just something about this brand that really makes me happy!

What is your favorite high-end brand?

Thanks for stopping by :)

Step by Step - Foolproof Going Out Look For Summer.

Summer is around the corner and I was playing around with some of my makeup the other day and I posted this photo on my instagram (margretscorner follow me:)
And I decided to do a step by step post on this eyelook since it is sooooo easy.

I think it is perfect for going out in the summer since it has a pop of color and I paired it with a bright pink lip :)

Step 1 - Primer Primer Primer... My ultimate favorite is the Urban Decay Primer Potion and I only need a tiny bit for both eyelids.

Step 2 - Next I took my Maybelline gel eyeliner in black, I used it all over my eyelid.
If you use black a an base and then any color (bright metallic) ends up being so vivid and beautiful.
I love this technique

Step 3 - Next I take a light brown color to blend into my crease and soften the edges. My new favorite is MAC kid. It is very soft and I only use tiny bit. You can also use a bit darker brown and get more of a smokey effect.

Step 4 - Pick your eyelid color, I love Urban Decay Hijack from Book of Shadows number five.
Place it all over the black base.

Step 5 - Apply inner corner highlighter, I am using Crystal from the same Urban decay Palette.
It makes such a difference when you do this small step.

Step 6 - Apply more eyeliner :)
On your waterline and upper lash line and I like to wing it out .

step 7 - Curl your lashes and apply mascara, Today I am using the Benefit They're real.
If you dare, apply false eyelashes :)

Step 8 Then go ahead and do some finishing touches.
Fill in your eyebrows,  I am using Rimmel eyebrow pencil in Hazel.

Step 9 - More finishing touches... Creamy light matte eyeshadow on my brow bone to give me a little lift. This one is from Seventeen and is called Ivory Coast

And the eyes are done!
So easy :)

I had to pair the look with a bright lip.
Since summer is almost here I think this look is great for going out and with the bright lip it really   is a summer night look!
I used MAC Viva Glam Nicki (the first lipstick) (I did a post about it here)
And on top I used Chanel Lipgloss (I can't find it right now, I have no idea where I put it but I will post a Instagram photo when I find it with the name)

And for the rest of the face this is what I am wearing:
Bourjois healthy Mix Foundation in 52
Soap and Glory Blotting Powder in translucent
Collection Concealer in shade 1 and 2
Benefit Dallas Blush/Bronzer

So that was my Step by Step to a Foolproof Going Out Look For Summer.

Let me know what you think and if you have tried any of these products?

As always
