The Sunday Post... Late August Favorites

Hi Everyone, it's getting a bit late and I can't stop watching The Real Housewives of New Jersey. I forgot that it had started again so I am already on episode 6 this evening. I just can't stop watching! Am I the only one that is obsessed with The Housewives??

I wanted to post my August Favorites the other day but I just kept on forgetting to write it. I decided to throw it in a little Sunday Post this evening :)

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation - I have been on a little Nars craving lately. I picked up those foundation after falling in love with the concealer. There is a lot of hype around this foundation and I will admit that I love it. It is so natural but good coverage. I think the shade is perfect for me and it blend out so perfectly.

Nars Radiance Creamy concealer - This was one of the first recent Nars purchase and I fell in love, it is very creamy but not so creamy that it creases under my eyes. It conceals almost everything and lasts all day.

I will do a full review soon with a before and after picture so you can see how the foundation and concealer performs :)

MAC 217 Brush - I just love this brush, it is a must have. I use it to blend out harsh edges. For everyday I use one eyeshadow all over the lid and then blend it out with the 217. The brush is also amazing with cream shadows.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow stick in bluffing - This has been the easiest thing to use in the mornings when I am in a rush. I just love this shade, a beautiful metallic light taupe. It does crease on me if I don't use primer (everything does). I still love it and it makes a good shadow base.

L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Mono Eyeshadows - I have already done photos for a post only about these, just a little heads up, these are amazing. Such a great pigmentation and the shades are gorgeous. The post will be up next week :)

Bumble and Bumble Creme De Coco Shampoo and Conditioner - I am not a person that spends a lot of money on shampoo and conditioner, I did pick these up in a recent Space NK trip and I couldn't be happier. My hair feels so soft and healthy since I started using them. They smell amazing and they leave my hair super shiny.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water - Every brand has one of these out at the moment. I have tried few from the drugstore and the Garnier micellar water is the best one. It is a great makeup remover and does not leave a sticky residue on my skin.

The Body Shop Camomile Waterproof eye makeup remover - I wear waterproof mascara on daily basis so a good waterproof makeup remover is so important. The reason why I like this one is that it feels soothing. It is a great eye makeup remover but the soothing factor is so good.

MAC Perfume - I have been enjoying this perfume all through August, I am crap at describing scents but I added a perfume collection onto my blog ideas and I might try to describe some of the ones I own. This one is great for every day and smells a bit like sophisticated and girly at the same time.

Well that was it for todays post, hope your week will be good and don't forget to follow the blog on bloglovin :D

Thanks for reading

The Sunday Post... Ramble and Update

Hi Everyone :)

I want to get back to blogging and what can be a better way than a ramble little Sunday Post.

Well I am back in London and I have been here almost 4 months, the summer is over and I can't believe how quick it went by. My favorite season is here and I can't wait for September/October months.

I am going to do a little catch up on Sundays here on my blog, I like looking back and seeing what I have been up to (full of myself much?)..  For the first week of September I have been trying to get more organized and healthier. I am trying to make little changes here and there. The week didn't start off well since I was stuck ill at home, I was off work until Thursday, so a slow start. I did manage to go out for a run three times (my little goal is to go at least two times a week) and until Friday I was eating fairly healthy through the days. But this weekend I have been on a little binge, for example, today (Sunday) I was working and I got to the shop and someone had smashed the window at work so guess how my day started...
On my lunch I got myself a magazine (Company of course with Ferne Cotton on the front) and sat down in one of my favorite places Harris and Hoole.

Well I can promise you that I really enjoyed it :) - That Cake!

One thing that I have been putting off all weekend is looking at my Uni stuff, basically my Uni started last Monday but since I am living in London attending Uni in Iceland while working a daytime job (complicated enough?), it has been difficult to sort everything out. I was registered in all courses that I took last year so I spent most days on the phone or sending emails last week. I officially got registered to the right courses last Friday so tomorrow I am already a week behind and I need to spend the next few days catching up (and buying books).

One thing that I haven't been forgetting is shopping... this is my latest Instagram picture (@margretscorner)

I am ashamed of myself... and a little proud (There is more than this)
As you can see I have 'few' new products that I need to use and I will tell you all about it. I also have few great ideas that I want to post. (MAC lipstick collection and one brand FOTD) If you have any other ideas let me know in the comments :D

I am pretty sure I might be going on a spending ban since me and Ethan are going on a little trip soon (I am so excited!). I have never actually banned myself from spending money haha it is a bit silly but I have turned into a little shopaholic recently.

And here are few of my most recent makeup Instagram snaps :)
@margretscorner

I can't wait to get into next week, even though Ethan is pretty sure I have a fever right now and honestly I have the worst eye infection ever (So gross) but tomorrow I start work at 3 pm, I am going to organize my Uni and post tomorrow blogpost up :D

Hope everyone is doing well :)

Thanks for reading this random ramble and don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin (btw I hit 100 followers the other day, more on that soon! <3 font="">

The Sunday Post... Update and Tumblr

Hi Everyone!

I had a goal for January to try to blog every day or at least five times a week... Well a little fail since it's three days since I posted! Get back on the blogging train please...

Uni started again last Monday, I am excited but also fairly stressed. The classes are a bit more complicated and already I feel like I am behind, maybe because I did not want to study at all the first week. I am still in denial about the Holidays to be over... Next week I will be very organised and get things done.

I was waiting the other day for my boyfriend to finish work and I found myself in a store that sells books and that sort of stuff. I found a Purple leather notebook... I had to have it! Just to have a new notebook for my blog! I am addicted to notebooks, but in all fairness this one is awesome haha!

Planner from Peter Pauper Press
Purple notebook from Leuchtturm 1917
They are both bought at Eymundson here in Iceland but I know that both brands are available in the UK

I posted that photo on my Instagram @margretscorner and also on my Tumblr...

Speaking of my Tumblr haha... I have change the layout, it is now just one page with all the post like a collage with loads of pretty things and I have it on a scroll so it is just very comfortable to look through.
You can check out my Tumblr here, I really try to update it once a day with pretty makeup or just things I love. There are few of my own pictures but I love re-blogging beautiful photos.
Here are some of the things I have been re-blogging :D

I have been very uninspired to blog for the last few days and I am excited for a fresh week, I will organise myself and make sure I get things done!

During the Holidays I started watching Made in Chelsea and tonight I watched season 6 End of Season Party... OMGOSH... anyone else a MiC fan? I have fallen in love with this tv show in a month. My favorite is probably Binky and Fransic. I like Cheska and I can't believe what Victoria said to her.. okay no one here knows what I am talking about so I need to stop hah...
Hope you will have a good week! If you are lost for inspiration go and check out my Tumblr :)

The Sunday Post - My MAC palette

Hi Everyone

In this Sunday Post I wanted to talk about my MAC Palette...

When I started getting into makeup I bought the 15 pan palette and had a goal to fill it up with pretty eye shadows. It started off slowly, regularly I bought new eye shadows that would fill up a little space in my palette.
In the meantime I bought more makeup and discovered new things. If I had a bit of money and I went to MAC I ended up buying blush or lipsticks instead of eyeshadow.

Don't get me wrong, if I had millions I would have everything MAC offers... BUT I think it is a bit expensive to fill a 15 pan eyeshadow palette, each eyeshadow is £10 and the empty palette is £14 and correct me if I am wrong, according to the website you have to buy the insert separately if you want it and that is £6.50. So in total for a 15 pan eyeshadow palette WITHOUT the insert, filled up is £164 and with the insert you end up paying £170.50...
What do you think about that? If you are from America or Canada, feel free to let me know what you end up paying.
I will not even get into how much it is in Iceland since I will never shop MAC in Iceland because it is almost double the price of what it is in England.

So back to my MAC palette, I had few good shadows but I never reached for them. I used my Urban Decay Palettes instead and all my other eye shadows. To try to use my palette more and in honor of moving I depotted Urban Decay and a Too Faced eyeshadow palette, took the insert out of my MAC palette and had loads of pretty eye shadows in one place.

I did use them but then I went ahead and dropped the palette... YES worst thing ever... Loads of eye shadows broke and there was no way of saving them, I miss Sable and Phloof the most :(
Trust me, loads of tears and it still hurts to think about it to this day.

That brings me to right before Christmas, I had few MAC shadows but there were only couple that I used. My boyfriend ask me to pick out loads of things of MAC UK website and it was sent to someone in England and they shipped it over. I got loads of things and including that was a 4 pan eyeshadow palette and one more eyeshadow to create the palette...

So here it is in all of it's glory

Naked Lunch is my new addition, I really like this as a everyday color all over the lid with Kid in the Crease, or as a inner corner highlighter. Very pretty color

Antiqued might be like the second eyeshadow I bought from MAC. This color suits my eye color so well. It is such a pretty fall/winter color, all over the lid. (You can see how banged up the shadow is from the fall :( it was a horrible day)
Kid is one of my favorite blending color to use in the crease, it is perfect for everyday or to blend out a smokey eyeshadow. Kid can blend out any of the eye shadows in the palette :)

Satin Taupe is a classic, I got it because of all the hype around it and I do like it, it is a very pretty color all over the lid, I do think you definitely need a primer to have a smooth application with this eyeshadow.

If I ever decide to buy another MAC eyeshadow (that will definitely happen at one point) I might just buy them in single pot or switch one shadow out. If I want to buy more I will only get them in 4 pan. The 15 pan palettes are too big and I think having the eye shadows in a quad makes me grab for them more often and it is easier to travel with.

If you are looking into investing in some high quality eye shadows I would rather recommend Urban Decay or if you want to build up your own palette you should definitely create your own Inglot palette. I have to make a post about my Inglot palette since the quality is amazing and so affordable.

What is your opinion on MAC eye shadows? Do you think they are worth the money when you can get Urban Decay, Inglot and other high quality eye shadows for only the fraction of the price?

I never really thought about the total cost of having a 15 pan eyeshadow palette but now when I do think about it I don't really think it is worth it. The 4 pan palette is more money than any of the UD Naked palettes...
I do like the quality but on the other hand I prefer some of my other eyeshadows :)
I also got MAC Omega in a single pot to have as a eyebrow color or as a crease color :)

Thanks for reading, it was a pretty long post but I would LOVE to know what you thing about MAC palettes?

The Sunday Post - What I use for stress break-out!

Hi Everyone,

My last final is in a day and a half, on Tuesday and it is very late on a Sunday right now. I wanted to make a little Sunday Post here just to get my mind off things and share with you some of the things I have been using to battle the affects that stress has on my skin!

I am not wearing as much make up as usual and I keep on touching my face and when I wake up in the morning and I am not putting on makeup I sometimes forget to wash my face. So it gets very gross when that happens. (eww)

Anyway since its has been three weeks of being in study-land I have developed a little routine for keeping my skin clear.

Soap and Glory No Clogs Allowed, Super self-heating face mask: This is a great mask! It is self heating and that was scary at first but now I am in love with it, I only use it every two weeks and it works very well, It really does clear out your pores and unclog any dirt you have. I really feel like my skin is brand new after I get out of the shower when I use this.

Dr Jart+ Clear Away Gel, Exfoliates and Smoothies Skin's surface, This gel exfoliater has very fine mild corns in it. It is meant to use only once or twice a week but I have been using this as a daily cleanser. Since it is just like a gel and not like an exfoliator it has been great. It really helps keeping the spots at minimum and my skin feels great after washing.

La Roche-Posay, Effaclar Duo, This product is amazing, I have had it for a while but I only use it for few weeks and then I save it until I need it. I feel like if I use it everyday for a long time, my skin adjusts to it. This products helps with clogged up pores, it just clears my skin. Effaclar Duo is corrective and unclogging anti-imperfection care. I personally think it stink, as in smells really bad, is that just me? haha but it really works. I use it every morning, before my moisturizer.

Neutrogena, Visibly clear Spot Stress Control. Ultra light spot treatment moisturiser. This moisturiser is very light and feels very nice on the skin. I actually bought it for my boyfriend since he was looking for a light spot treatment. As you can see I have completely stolen it from him and I am using this at night at the moment. It does not dry up my skin, it makes it feels very soft and I love the smell of the product.

The other thing that I have been loving when I get like one big spot straight on my nose, is tea tree oil, I have some from the Body Shop in a small container, I think when that runs out I might go and buy a full size tea tree oil. I use a q-tip and just dip it in the oil and apply it on the spot. The next day it has almost gone! I really love using the tea tree oil.

Keep in mind that every skin is different, please write down in the comments what you use and works for you to get rid of stress spots :)

Btw, I actually use all of these products when I get hormonal spots as well, you know... that can be fun, when I wake up with a BIG spot straight on my nose...

Anyway, wish me good luck on Tuesday and then I am finally finished with my finals!!

Thanks for reading

The Sunday Post - My little love affair with Chanel

Hi Everyone

It's like one in the morning and I am far behind on my stu-dying, so instead of stressing out I decided to do the one thing that relaxes me... blogging..  a little rumble Sunday post.

I wanted to share with you my little love affair with Chanel makeup. I would probably say I was more of a high street/drugstore kind of gal but I do love high-end brands, I have a good selection of high-end make up and last year my addiction started for real, and the brand that I want everything from is Chanel.

I was gifted a Chanel nail polish in Satin Blue and a Chanel lip gloss in 427, I fell in love!

I had to convince myself to get a Chanel lipstick, (only because I have way too many lipsticks) but it took me about 5 minutes and I bought my first one.

My first Chanel lipstick was the Rouge Allure in Pirate. This is the most perfect red lipstick ever. Pirate is just perfect. No other word to describe this lipstick.
I got it when my sister was in London with me :)
A day before I move back to Iceland, me and Ethan went to Oxford street and had a massive shopping day! and that day I got the Rouge Coco Shine in Saga, it is the perfect every day pink lipstick, I decided that if I could only have one lipstick for the rest of my life this would be it. (and the red one as well, who only has one lipstick)

I love buying new makeup and when I buy more expensive beauty products I like to do it on a special occation.

The best part about both these lipsticks is that I got both of thm for free! I used my Boots points. :)

I know this is only the start to my little affair with Chanel, there is just something about this brand that really makes me happy!

What is your favorite high-end brand?

Thanks for stopping by :)

I just have to share the prettiest nail polish ever!

The Sunday Post

Hi Everyone

It's Sunday Evening and I just wanted to blog a little bit, I didn't really want to edit photos or write a review but just a little catch up and a ramble..

Uni is getting more manic every day and I am starting some sort of Final Exam 'boot camp' next week for two of my courses. Apparently it is the way to get you through it with good grade. It is expensive but I really want to go. Would you spend 70 pounds for one course 'boot camp' 5 days intensive studying and going through over ten old exams? These five days are spread over a month.. Well I think I will fork out the money.. for both courses, so goodbye 140 quid :'(

On the other hand Downton Abbey started showing here in Iceland tonight and omgosh.. I am a big Downton fan and I really really really love it! What did you think of the first episode? If you want to talk Downton, come and chat with me on my tumblr here. I personally love Mr Branson, Anna and Mr Bates. I almost cried when Lady Mary cried with Mr Carlson! And that Nany West, I would of killed her right then and there. Seriously, I have so much to talk about but I don't want to leave any spoilers here!
I really recommend this Tv show, it is such a surprise when you start watching it!

Two other shows that I am addicted to right now but will be a subject for another blog post are The only way is Essex and Grey's Anatomy..

I have been going over some of my random photos and sometimes it is so difficult to post on Instagram since I have a horrible phone that does not listen to orders, I have loads of random ones and here is one pretty one of one of my favorite nail polishes :)

Here I am wearing China Glaze, Orange Knockout (Neon) and the glitter on my ring finger is Nicole by OPI, Rainbow in the S-Kylie from the Kardashian Collection.

Also I did a cheeky little MUA shopping the other day and instead of posting a full Haul here on my blog, I posted a picture of the Haul on Facebook, You can check out my Facebook page and like it if you want  :)
Here is what I bought...

From left to right:
MUA matte lipsticks
FashionistA gel liner in Cute Route
FashionstA Shine Stopper, Loose Powder
MUA Matte Foundation
FashionistA Secret Mattifying Primer
MUA Cover All Concealer
MUA Lash Boom

Have you tried any of these products? I have started playing around with them, So far, so good!
I can't wait to try Lash Boom but I have too many mascaras at the moment so I am saving that one.

Enough with the rambling tonight, I am already feeling bit more relaxed so I might go to school tomorrow or just take a day to read and chill, I was at school yesterday (Saturday) and also today so maybe I will just not go.. sometimes you just need days like that right..

Thanks for reading and hopefully you are having a nice Sunday!

Margrét
