FOTD ft. MAC Sable and Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Luxembourg

Hey Everyone

I used to be obsessed with MAC eyeshadow in Sable. It was one of the first shadows I bought from MAC and couple of years ago I accidentally smashed it. I ended up buying it again in a single pot and I still think it is one of the most effortless eye shadows I have ever used.
I have a love/hate relationship of MAC eye shadows. You can check out a post about my MAC quad here and in that post I said I love MAC shadows but they are expensive and now you can get amazing quality for less money (for example Makeup Geek).

I stopped collecting shadows in a big 15 pan palette. Got rid of the shadows that I broke or was never going to use and made a perfect quad. Now I still buy MAC shadows but in a single pot. (Stay tune for updated post on my MAC shadows) I am not a makeup artist so maybe if I could buy MAC with the makeup artist discount, I might buy more of the shadows.

Anyway I ended up buying the Sable eyeshadow again and I love using it all over the lid and also on my lower lash line.

Here is my FOTD and it is all about MAC Sable and Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Luxembourg.

For my base I used the Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer and the Chanel Perfection Lumére Velvet Foundation. I can't get enough of this primer and the Chanel foundation is one of my favorite high end foundations. I covered up my dark circles with the Nars Raidiance Creamy concealer and I powdered everything in place with the Nars Light Reflection pressed powder.

I used the Too Faced Milk Chocolate bronzer to lightly contour and to warm up my skin. The blush is Nars Dolce Vita. I love this blush, it is described as a matte dusty rose but I feel like it has a lot of berry in it. It is kinda dark and since I'm so pale, I need to apply it with a light hand but it looks so lovely.

I used the Urban Decay Naked Basic 2 palette to blend out Sable and to highlight my brow bone. For my inner corner highlight I use MAC vanilla pigment.
I just apply the Sable eyeshadow all over the lid with a flat eyeshadow brush and then blend it out with a fluffy eyeshadow brush like MAC 224.

Sable is a cool bronze with a frost finish and warm red undertones. The texture is soft and smooth. The shadow is very pigmented and blends out so easily.

I used my YSL mascara that has almost dried out and I am going to wait to repurchase it until I finish few other mascaras that I have lying around unopened, I will defnitly repurchase it though!

On my lips I have Nars Satin Lipstick Luxembourg and it is getting so obvious how addicted to Nars I am! The Satin Lip pencils are a must have and this shade in Luxembourg is a red with a lot of pink in it. It goes on so smoothly and lasts for few hours.

From left to right
MAC Sable - Nars Dolce Vita - Nars Luxembourg
(I know that the blush is heavily swatched but I use it with a light hand and a soft brush. It looks lovely on the skin)

These are the two products that I used for my brows, I am actually rotating few products for my brows for the last few months so I should do a little post about the brow products that I am loving at the moment.
I used the Soap and Glory Archery brow pencil to fill in my brows and then the L'Oréal Brow Artist to add a little volume and to set my brows.

I love how Sable looks on my eyes and it is such an easy eyeshadow to work with, you can actually build up the color and the shadow adds so much dimension on its own.

I'm off tomorrow and I will be taking few pictures for my blog to keep up with a steady content here on the blog.
I'm actually missing Iceland a lot this weekend while it's Easter. It is just so different here in London, there are so many cultures and religions here that everything is just like normal. The Easter eggs in Iceland are so delicious and it just feels all different!
I am going to go for a visit soon so I can't wait to book a little trip.

Sunday's FOTD ft. Stila in The Light palette

Hi Everyone

The weather here in London was horrible today, rainy and windy. My umbrella ripped and then just broke haha!. I had no special plans today but in Iceland there is Konudagur which is a day where we celebrate women so it is kinda like wives day, but for example my dad used to buy something for me and my sister as well. It is kinda like celebrate the woman in your life.
In Iceland we don't traditionally celebrate Valentine's day but we have Bóndadagur (husband's day) and Konudagur (Wives's day), Valentine's day is actually in between these days. There is a long story about these days but basically the Konudagur marks the end of the month of Þorri. I am not going to go into Icelandic traditions but this all makes sense if you're Icelandic haha.

Anyway what I was trying to say, since it was Konudagur I wanted to do my makeup a little bit more than a normal Sunday and go out and buy myself something from Space NK. I actually bought the new foundation from Nars and a new eyeshadow duo. If I have time tomorrow I want to use them and take some pictures of both products :)

So here is everything I used today

I have been obsessed with the new Rimmel products, especially the Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer and the Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Foundation. The primer is very long lasting. I have been using it for few weeks now and it is really good. I definitely feel like the foundation goes on more smoothly and lasts longer with the primer. The foundation is definitely medium coverage but it does look like your skin. The shade is a good match for my skin tone and I am in love with these two products.
My concealer is the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer and my skin is bad right now so I need to cover my spots, for a highlight under my eyes I used MAC Prep+Prime highlighting pen, I have been using this daily and playing around with the whole v-shape highlight. To set everything I used Nars Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder and this powder is fast becoming my favorite setting powder.

I contoured with my Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit, I will do a full review on this kit soon but I have to play around with it for a little bit longer. I used the middle bottom shade to contour and the top right as my highlighter. My blush is a new addition to my collection and that is MAC Warm Soul.

I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pompeii in Blonde and I am still looking for the best brush to apply this product. It is easy to use too much but when you get used to this product it is amazing,

On my eyes I used the Stila in the light palette. I love this palette, I used to have it couple of years ago and got rid of it but I ended up repurchase it. I have Kitten all over the lid with a mixture of both matte browns in the crease. I just think this palette has it all. My liner is the Seventeen Make your Mark and that is on my top lash line and on my waterline I have the Makeup Revolution Inner Brigthner which is a light peach shade that brightens up your eyes. My mascara is the YSL Volume Effect Faux Waterproof Mascara, it is still my current favorite.

On my lips I have the Revlon matte balm in Sultry, the Revlon matte balm are one of my favortie lip products ever.

That was my FOTD !

I am currently on the Makeup Geek website trying to pick out eye shadows to order, if you have any recommendations let me know, I currently have a list of 12 and I am only ordering 9 haha!

Hope you enjoyed this little post :)
If you have any questions about the products that I used just leave them down in the comments.

Thank you so much for reading!

FOTD - Easy & Quick products ft. Kiko eyeshadow stick & Clinique Chubby Stick

Hi Everyone :)

I really enjoy dark berry lips with smokey eyes but let's be honest, it takes a bit of time. I think during the colder months, bold brows, smokey eyes with lots of mascara, flawless base and a dark lip is just perfect. However it takes a little longer til put all this makeup on my face. I found few products that are quick and easy to use and give that 'pull together' look within minutes.

I used the Chanel Perfection Lumére Velvet Foundation and the Nars Raidiance Creamy Concealer for a good and natural coverage. I have been enjoying the Chanel foundation alot recently, I should definitely do a little post about it.
For bold brows I used the Rimmel Brow This Way, wax and powder duo. I am really liking this so far. It is in the shade Medium brown, it is a little to dark for me but I could not find a lighter shade in the store. I think bolder and darker brows are great for autumn/winter. This brow duo is good, I prefer a pencil to be honest but with the right tools this is great.
I always have to use a eyeshadow primer and today I used the Too Faced Shadow Insurance.
The quick fix for eyeshadow is the shadow stick. I used KIKO Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick in number 38 Golden Taupe. In my last post I spoke about a different KIKO shadow stick. They are just so easy to blend out and last all day!
I used a L'Oréal Color Riche L'Ombre Pure Eyeshadow in my inner corner as a highlighter. I don't have the name of the color in front of  me right now but like I said in my last post, you should be expecting a post with all the shadows I have :)
I used the MAC eyeliner on the waterline to make it a little darker and then applied loads of mascara.

The mascara I am using is the Dior Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Waterproof. I was going to do a separate post on this mascara because last year I was obsessed over another Dior mascara so I decided to try this one out. It is rubbish, for the price, no good. It crumbles down all over my face and just looks bad. It does not hold curl at all like most waterproof mascaras. It does not apply nicely and just don't bother buying this! (haha I just had to be brutally honest here!)

Anyway...
The second quick fix product is the Clinique Chubby Stick Intense moisturising lip color balm (omg long name) in 09 Roundest Raspberry. It is a beautiful raspberry shade that is so flattering.
I used the Benefit Christmas Set for my cheeks (Hoola bronzer and Dandelion blush) You can find a little review and pictures about that here.

The two products that really make the look are the KIKO eyeshadow stick and the Clinique Chubby Stick. Both these products are quick, easy and very convenience for everyday use. I just apply the KIKO stick and blend it out with my fingers. The lipstick is very winter appropriated and since it is a chubby stick it goes on really easily. the shade is such a beautiful raspberry color. I love both products and the KIKO shadow is called Golden Taupe on the website. It is a taupe shade with gold shimmer, the shimmer is not super obvious but it does give it a great dimension.

What are your favorite easy and quick products?

The Sunday Post... Late August Favorites

Hi Everyone, it's getting a bit late and I can't stop watching The Real Housewives of New Jersey. I forgot that it had started again so I am already on episode 6 this evening. I just can't stop watching! Am I the only one that is obsessed with The Housewives??

I wanted to post my August Favorites the other day but I just kept on forgetting to write it. I decided to throw it in a little Sunday Post this evening :)

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation - I have been on a little Nars craving lately. I picked up those foundation after falling in love with the concealer. There is a lot of hype around this foundation and I will admit that I love it. It is so natural but good coverage. I think the shade is perfect for me and it blend out so perfectly.

Nars Radiance Creamy concealer - This was one of the first recent Nars purchase and I fell in love, it is very creamy but not so creamy that it creases under my eyes. It conceals almost everything and lasts all day.

I will do a full review soon with a before and after picture so you can see how the foundation and concealer performs :)

MAC 217 Brush - I just love this brush, it is a must have. I use it to blend out harsh edges. For everyday I use one eyeshadow all over the lid and then blend it out with the 217. The brush is also amazing with cream shadows.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow stick in bluffing - This has been the easiest thing to use in the mornings when I am in a rush. I just love this shade, a beautiful metallic light taupe. It does crease on me if I don't use primer (everything does). I still love it and it makes a good shadow base.

L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Mono Eyeshadows - I have already done photos for a post only about these, just a little heads up, these are amazing. Such a great pigmentation and the shades are gorgeous. The post will be up next week :)

Bumble and Bumble Creme De Coco Shampoo and Conditioner - I am not a person that spends a lot of money on shampoo and conditioner, I did pick these up in a recent Space NK trip and I couldn't be happier. My hair feels so soft and healthy since I started using them. They smell amazing and they leave my hair super shiny.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water - Every brand has one of these out at the moment. I have tried few from the drugstore and the Garnier micellar water is the best one. It is a great makeup remover and does not leave a sticky residue on my skin.

The Body Shop Camomile Waterproof eye makeup remover - I wear waterproof mascara on daily basis so a good waterproof makeup remover is so important. The reason why I like this one is that it feels soothing. It is a great eye makeup remover but the soothing factor is so good.

MAC Perfume - I have been enjoying this perfume all through August, I am crap at describing scents but I added a perfume collection onto my blog ideas and I might try to describe some of the ones I own. This one is great for every day and smells a bit like sophisticated and girly at the same time.

Well that was it for todays post, hope your week will be good and don't forget to follow the blog on bloglovin :D

Top Five Friday - Getting ready in a hurry!

Hi Everyone :)
Happy Friday! I decided to go and stay at my dads this weekend to get some studying done. So hopefully this will be a productive weekend with a lot of snacking and reading!

I wanted to share with you guys my top five products that I use when I am getting ready in a hurry. Some days when I have to show up really early in the morning, I just want to do my makeup in few minutes but still look super fabulous. Like I have spent 20 minutes but I actually just spent 5 minutes!

I always pick a foundation that is a good color match and blends easily into my skin. Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation gives a good medium coverage but still has a very glowing natural look.
It just take a minute to blend this foundation into the skin and make it flawless

I am loving the e.l.f Warm Bronzer for a quick sweep all over my cheeks. It gives a great glow and dimension on my face.

I love using the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in On and On Bronze with a light sweep all over the lid. It looks like you took awhile applying your eyeshadow but I use my finger and pad it all over the lid.

Next I make sure I use a mascara that it is easy to apply and gives me volumized lashes in one coat. These days I am loving the Maybelline Falsies mascara. It is fast and gives me lovely lashes.

My main tip to look like you made an effort is a bold lip. I love the Rimmel Color Rush Lip Balm in Rumor Has it. It is easy to apply and the color is so bright and I really think it makes me look like I care haha! The formula is great and even though it is a bright color, it is easy to apply because it is like a crayon.

So as you can see my main thing for getting ready in a hurry are products that are easy to use and products that make me look like I put a lot of effort in.
What products do you guys use when you only have 5 minutes in the morning?

Thanks for reading :)

Mani-Monday... The Mint edition

Hi everyone

It is still super cold here in Iceland but I can't wait for spring. I just got a new watch sent in the mail few days ago. It is super cute and the best thing, it is a mint color! I pulled out a mint necklace I got from ebay, you can see it here when I posted a little ebay haul.

I also got the watch from ebay (link here) It is only 3 pounds with free international delivery!

I just had to have Mint nails so I used one of my favorite spring nail polishes and that is the Rimmel Lycra Pro nail polish in Peppermint.

There is actually a little story behind this nail polish, like year and a half ago, everyone was talking about this shade in the blogging world. It is very similar to Essie Mint Candy Apple. So once me and my boyfriend was shopping and he was rushing me to pick my third item for a 3 for 2 offer. I couldn't decide and then I saw this shade and I thought, yes I have to have it.
By the time I was home and about to take a shower, I looked down and I had this shade on my toe nails! Yes, I bought it twice without remembering I had it AND I was wearing it.
At that point I did take a break in shopping and now I make sure I know my stash before I go shopping :D

Well I had to add a 'little' glitter!
Rimmel Lycra Pro in Peppermint with the OPI In true Stefani Fashion, my current obsession

So, that was it, I hope everyone has a great week ahead...

What's in my Make Up Bag : Travel Edition (Summer 2013)

Hi Everyone,
I was going through my drafts and I found a post that was ready to be posted but somehow I forgot.
I hope you don't mind me posting this now, I did take this makeup with me on a weekend trip this summer (Camping) but I do like all the products still and I would probably take very similar/same makeup with me next time.

...
I love what's in my makeup bag posts but it is difficult for me to make those since i don't keep my makeup in a bag.
But when I do go away, I make sure I pick makeup I will use!
Some might think that I do take a lot of make up with me, but i rather be prepared than not to bring what I need. I think that with this makeup it is fairly standard for a every day make up.

I had to take my Dr. Jart BB cream, this is by far the best BB cream I have tried and it has SPF 25 so it was my sun screen. I used the BB cream every morning since there was sun and it gave me natural coverage as well. As for a foundation I brought the MUA Undress Me foundation. I just used the foundation later on in the day to give me natural coverage. It is a great foundation and it is only five pounds!
Unfortunately I can have very dark under eye circles and especially since I only slept for few hours the Bobbi Brown corrector in soft porcelain was very appreciated, as for a concealer the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer is a good medium coverage with natural finish and I also used that around my eyes.
For a finishing powder I took my Rimmel Stay Matte powder. I didn't really use that to much. For a blush I brought my NYX blush in Angel, I have a review of this blush here. It is one of my favourite blush ever. I also brought the e.l.f. Contour and Blush duo. Just to have some option and I like the bronzer in this duo, it works well to do a soft contour.

As for the eyes I have my trusted Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze and that is the easiest eye look you could do. I also have my Wet n` Wild eyeshadow trio in Walking on Egshells, the lightest color is amazing as a inner corner highlighter and the middle color is amazing as a all over lid color. This is such.a great trio. For a blending color in my crease I love NYX single eyeshadow in Taupe. It is so smooth and  you can bland any  look with this color.
I did go a bit overboard with eyeliner but I do love the Revlon colorstay Eyeliner in Brown. You don't have to sharpen it and it is so easy to apply it to my top lash line for a bit of definition. I really want to get the same in black. But as for a black eyeliner I have the Max Factor eyeliner in black. Its ok, I just wanted it with me and I did use it one evening when I wanted more defined liner. I also took Avon SuperShock eyeliner in Flash and this color is great for the waterline. If you want brighter eyes this is great.
I also have my favorite eyebrow pencil and that is Maybelline eyebrow pencil in Dark Blonde. I love this pencil. I also have a mascara and I have been using the Dior Showoff in black.

For lips it's all Revlon haha, you can't go wrong with a Lip Butter and I took Wild Watermelon and Strawberry Shortcake, you can see both of them here in a post I did all about the lip butters. I also have the Revlon Kissable balms stain in Honey and this is a great balm stain. I really like it. It stays on for a long time and does not dry out my lips. I have been going for moisturizing lip products since my lips have been quite dry lately

The brushes I have with me are
Real Technique Buffing Brush, duo fibre powder brush (for blush/bronzer) and the big powder brush.
For my eyes I have the No7 eyeshadow blend & Contour brush, Real Technique Shading Brush, Sigma E45 and the MAC 224 blending brush

I also had to bring my eyelash curlers, Tweezers and the Nivea Lip Butter!
You never know when you need a Tweezers...

So all the makeup was crammed into a bag and out for a travel. I did put the brushes in a brush roll but all the makeup fitted well into my clear makeup bag.

I did use all these products for the time I was there and I was very happy with my selection, I did not find that I needed anything else so I just wanted to share this with you guys

Better late than never right?

FOTD - Shades of Fall ft. No7 Truffle eyeshadow

Hi Everyone!

I took these photos few weeks ago and I keep on forgetting to post them so before it's too late to post them here is my Shades of Fall :)

I think it is easy to 'update' your makeup bag for a new season, even though right now in Iceland it is not even fall anymore, it's just cold haha.

For fall I think a neutral blush is really pretty and I love this MUA blush in Cupcake, so affordable.
For lips I like darker lips this season and Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Crush is perfect.
A beautiful eyeshadow all over the lid is a great way to look like you put some effort in your make up and I am loving No7 Eyeshadow in Truffle.
I have also grabbed my Rimmel Kohl eyeliner for a smudge to define my eyes a bit more.

Face:
 No7 Stay Perfect Foundation
Bobbi Brown Corrector in Porcelain Peach
Rimmel Wake me up Concealer
FashionistA Pressed Powder

Eyes:
I used Soap and Glory Neutral Palette, the light brown and dark brown shades in the crease , just to make it easier to blend out the other color. Then the creamy white shadow on my brow bone.
For a inner corner highlight I used a tiny bit of the lightest shade in the Walking on Eggshells palette from Wet n' Wild.
Then I used the No7 eyeshadow called Truffle all over the lid.

No7 Eyeshadow in Truffle

This is a brown shimmery color with a hint of gold/bronze warm tones. It suits my green eyes perfectly and I think it makes them stand out. It is a great eyeshadow and blends nicely.

The price is £7 but with all No7 products, you should wait until you can get a voucher and that would be £3 off so I would totally recommend buying this eyeshadow for £4. I think it is a bargain when you use the vouchers.

Then I used my Rimmel Scandaleyes khol eyeliner on the waterline and I also tight lined my upper lashes and just to give my eyes definition I just pressed tiny bit of liner into my lashes.

For a mascara I used my Dior Diorshow Waterproof mascara and it is almost finished so I must hurry and do a post about it because it is brilliant.

For my cheeks I used the contour color from the Sleek Face Form palette, it is a matte and perfect for contouring.
For my blush I used the MUA Cupcake blush. It is a brilliant matte dusty soft peach, but very neutral color, a perfect Autumn blush.

My Lipstick is Revlon Kissable Balm stain in Crush is a great long-wearing shade, it is a deep berry shade and compliments the eyeshadow perfectly.
I really like all the Revlon Kissable balm stain and in America they have brought out a glossy and matte version and I hope that one day I can get my hands on those.
Have you tried them yet?

So that was my Face of the 'day' even though it is couple of weeks old, I still hope you enjoyed it :)

FOTD - Last Night

Hi Everyone!

Yesterday I went out with my friends for dinner at Nora Magasín in Reykjavík. The food was great and I had a great time.
I did manage to get an extra hour getting ready and I decided to take coupe of photos since I was using a Wet n Wild Comfort zone palette and a new FashionistA eyeliner for the first time.
The eyshadow I am talking about is an exact dupe for MAC Club eyeshadow! There is no difference.

I used my Bourjois healthy Mix foundation, Concealer and Powder and then for a blush I grabbed a natural glowing blush from Rimmel called Santa Rose. I did not want to contour or anything like that.
I used my normal Dior Mascara and eyeliner in the waterline is Avon supershock.

The eyeshadow from Wet n' Wild is amazing, I used a soft brown in my crease and then this Wet n Wil eyeshadow all over, next time I will definitely use a black base as that will make it stand out even more!

The eyeshadow is the Define eyeshadow in the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette, the one at the bottom right. It is so multidimensional, it is like brown, red, blue, teal and grey have been smashed together and created this beautiful color.
The eyeliner is from FashionistA and is black with blue and green sparkles, I really like this eyeliner and I love the color, it is called 24/7 style

As for my lips I was wearing a nude lip color and I used:
No7 Lip pencil in nude
Rimmel Moisture renew lipstick in Nude Delight
Bourjois 3D lipsgloss in 33

So that was my look last night, I really liked it but next time I will definitely use a black base to get it more smokey and intense.

Please leave your links in the comments because I love finding new blogs :)

P.S. I liked my hair a lot, I had a waterfall braid on one side and curled my hair with my curling wand, it literally took me 10 min. :) What do you think?
