Saturday's Autumn FOTD with Kiko Water Eyeshadows

Hi Everyone, I was playing around with some Kiko eyeshadows I bought few weeks ago. I am definitely going back to get more because these are amazing.

The shadows are the Kiko Water Eyeshadows, you can either use them wet or dry. I used them dry today but I am definitely going to try them wet as well.

They are so soft, creamy and blend like a dream. I love the pattern and the 3D effect, just look how pretty they are! The packaging is sleek black and they have a little mirror in the lid which is always a bonus.
I got the shades 203 Burgundy and 205 Chocolate.

I used Burgundy on the inner half of my eyelid and then the chocolate shade on my outer half. I just blended the shadows like crazy and had a little help from my Urban Decay Naked Basic 2 for my highlighter on my brow bone and inner corner, also the shade Cover to help blend the shades together. I used the Chocolate shade on my lower lash line to give it a smokey look.

The rest of the products I used:

I used the Max Factor Facefinity All Day Flawless Foundation (review here) and the Dior Skin Star Concealer, I am still testing the concealer out, I will let you what I think about it in a post soon. To set my foundation I used the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder, I am really on the fence about this powder, I don't know if it is worth the money :/ I am still playing around with it so, again I will let you know how I am getting on with it.
For my blush I used MAC Blush All Day and I love this natural/mauve/dusty blush for Autumn.
I used the MUA Luxe felt tip liner on my upper lash line and a Nars eyeliner on my waterline.
I used the L'oreal eyebrow pencil to fill in my brows and I really like this pencil.

My lipstick is my current favorite nude lip and that is the YSL Rouge Volupte in number 1 Beige. Honestly one of the prettiest nude color I have ever used.

I forgot to take a picture of the Naked Basic 2 palette but like I mentioned earlier in this post I used couple of shades to highlight and blend the eyeshadows. My mascara is also missing from the picture but I used the Maybelline Falsies mascara.

So here you have it :) Autumn inspired FOTD

Thanks for reading and if you have any great recommendations for great Autumn eyeshadows please let me know :)

FOTD with a First Impression of MUA Lash Boom Mascara

Hi Everyone,

I know I have been missing lately but there is just so much going on in my life. Literally I am almost having a nervous break down. I am taking a little step back and just breathing right now which includes not taking an exam on Monday but taking the 'sickness' test instead which is in the beginning of March.

I am doing well in Uni but it is crazy, you have to do well all the time and right now I just want to give up!

So when life hands you mouldy lemons you have to throw them away and find yourself fresh ones and make lemon juice!

(ignore the cheesy bit to this, but I just have too hah)

Anyway so for today I am staying home, surprise surprise... though I have to go and see the doctor. I have hurt my finger some how few days ago and it has just been swelling up really badly and now my hand is hurting like crazy. I have a hard time writing when I am studying so I am just going to see what is going on before my hand falls off. (it has happened, I read it on the Internet ._. )

Since blogging and makeup makes me happy I took couple of snaps of my makeup today and I wanted to try out a new mascara that has been sitting in my draw.

The mascara I am trying out today for the first time is the MUA Lash Boom, Volume and Length Mascara.

It retails for £3 and you can find it online here or in Superdrug stores.

I am not sure how I feel about this mascara, as you can see it did nothing to my eyelashes. It did not give me any length, just a little volume.

I thought the brush, which is supposed to be the unique aspect of this mascara is just a little weird. The ball at then end which I think is supposed to give you volume was just clumping with too much product. I felt like I only applied product with the ball, like the mascara wand was just very short. But then when I started using the whole wand the ball was just making the lashes very clumped.
However I have very straight lashes and if it is not a waterproof formula or just an amazing mascara it won't really do anything for me.
So if you have great lashes, this mascara might be fine.
I think the formula is just basic and sometimes when I just want a little definition for my lashes, I don't mind not using a waterproof mascara this is the sort of mascara I will use.
I will have to use it more since this is just the first time I am using it. So keep in mind this is just my first impression, maybe I am using it in a wrong way?
Do you have the Lash Boom mascara and what do you think of it? Please let me know :D

So as for the rest of my face I used the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation as a base, I am still trying this foundation out and so far I really like it. it is very light and a natural finish. For my pretty dark under eye circles I used the MAC Pro Longwear concealer and also on few spots where I needed extra coverage.

To warm up my face and give myself a light contour I used the Body Shop Honey Bronzer. It is the lightest color and completely matte. My blush is the FashionistA blush in London. Such a glowing peachy/pink color.
The only eyeshadow I used all over the eyelid is the L'Oreal Color Appeal Eyeshadow in Platinum Beige number 152. You can read my review on it here. I had forgotten how bright and beautiful this shade is. I just used my fingers to apply it very quickly.

I used MAC Omega eyeshadow to fill in my eyebrows. I am liking using this shadow but I feel like it might be not enough ashy-toned for my eyebrows.
And then of course I tried out the MUA Lash Boom mascara and on my lips I have one of my favorite of the moment, NYX lip gloss in Beige.

Well that was that, I am back from the doctor and basically I have to go back on Monday if the swelling has not gone down, I did get some medicine but she was not really sure what is going on.. (the finger is falling off....)

January Favorites 2014 (late I know...)

Hi Everyone!

I really wanted to get this post up before it is too late and I think I might be too late. My personal life has been so busy and in the last couple of weeks it has changed a lot. But still I want to get back on track on blogging!

January was such a long month! I thought it would never end haha and now February is almost half way through and I feel like it is the 1st of Feb. Here are the products I enjoyed using almost every day through January.

There is a nice mixture between high end and drugstore makeup this month, I used a lot of MAC products since I got soo much MAC stuff for Christmas.I also used the same mascara all month and fell in love with a drugstore lip gloss :)

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer - Amazing concealer, that's all there is to say! I will do like a before and after photo of my dark circles and then you will agree haha. I have been wearing it almost every day and so far I think it will be a stable product from now on.

MUA Intense Kisses in Lips are sealed - Who knew this lipgloss would be this great. I am not a lipgloss kind of person, I prefer lipstick but this lipgloss is so soft and creamy on the lips. It is very pigmented and keeps my lips just very moisturised. Love the pink shade of it as well.

Maybelline Falsies Mascara - I used to have this mascara like two years ago and then I loved it and I still love it. I need to do like a before and after pictures with this mascara. It just makes my lashes look so nice.

Chanel Lipstick in Saga- I love this lipstick, it is just one of the perfect everyday lipstick that makes you look well put together. It feels great and I really love the formula of it.

Elf eyeliner and too faced eyeliner - this eyeliner duo was a stable this month, I did a post just with these two eyeliner and definitely go and check it out here and see the swatches. The too faced eyeliner is so black and waterproof, I just can't get over it!

Mac Mineralized skinfinish Natural - No matter what foundation I wore I used this powder to set it. It gives a natural finish but still keeps it matte. It also gives me a little extra coverage without looking cakey

Mac palette - I loved this palete last month, I did a post on it here where I talked about it. To be fair it is expensive but is very special to me. In February I will post four looks with this palete that I did in January. I wore it non stop for like two weeks. You can get super natural look with these shades or a bit more edgy. The eye shadows are very soft and pigmented. The colors I have are Kid, Naked Lunch, Antique and Satin Taupe.

-
Well, even though it is so late it still are products that I have been loving lately!
I hope to do a update post soon since I have been MIA for like two weeks now

What's in my Make Up Bag : Travel Edition (Summer 2013)

Hi Everyone,
I was going through my drafts and I found a post that was ready to be posted but somehow I forgot.
I hope you don't mind me posting this now, I did take this makeup with me on a weekend trip this summer (Camping) but I do like all the products still and I would probably take very similar/same makeup with me next time.

...
I love what's in my makeup bag posts but it is difficult for me to make those since i don't keep my makeup in a bag.
But when I do go away, I make sure I pick makeup I will use!
Some might think that I do take a lot of make up with me, but i rather be prepared than not to bring what I need. I think that with this makeup it is fairly standard for a every day make up.

I had to take my Dr. Jart BB cream, this is by far the best BB cream I have tried and it has SPF 25 so it was my sun screen. I used the BB cream every morning since there was sun and it gave me natural coverage as well. As for a foundation I brought the MUA Undress Me foundation. I just used the foundation later on in the day to give me natural coverage. It is a great foundation and it is only five pounds!
Unfortunately I can have very dark under eye circles and especially since I only slept for few hours the Bobbi Brown corrector in soft porcelain was very appreciated, as for a concealer the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer is a good medium coverage with natural finish and I also used that around my eyes.
For a finishing powder I took my Rimmel Stay Matte powder. I didn't really use that to much. For a blush I brought my NYX blush in Angel, I have a review of this blush here. It is one of my favourite blush ever. I also brought the e.l.f. Contour and Blush duo. Just to have some option and I like the bronzer in this duo, it works well to do a soft contour.

As for the eyes I have my trusted Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze and that is the easiest eye look you could do. I also have my Wet n` Wild eyeshadow trio in Walking on Egshells, the lightest color is amazing as a inner corner highlighter and the middle color is amazing as a all over lid color. This is such.a great trio. For a blending color in my crease I love NYX single eyeshadow in Taupe. It is so smooth and  you can bland any  look with this color.
I did go a bit overboard with eyeliner but I do love the Revlon colorstay Eyeliner in Brown. You don't have to sharpen it and it is so easy to apply it to my top lash line for a bit of definition. I really want to get the same in black. But as for a black eyeliner I have the Max Factor eyeliner in black. Its ok, I just wanted it with me and I did use it one evening when I wanted more defined liner. I also took Avon SuperShock eyeliner in Flash and this color is great for the waterline. If you want brighter eyes this is great.
I also have my favorite eyebrow pencil and that is Maybelline eyebrow pencil in Dark Blonde. I love this pencil. I also have a mascara and I have been using the Dior Showoff in black.

For lips it's all Revlon haha, you can't go wrong with a Lip Butter and I took Wild Watermelon and Strawberry Shortcake, you can see both of them here in a post I did all about the lip butters. I also have the Revlon Kissable balms stain in Honey and this is a great balm stain. I really like it. It stays on for a long time and does not dry out my lips. I have been going for moisturizing lip products since my lips have been quite dry lately

The brushes I have with me are
Real Technique Buffing Brush, duo fibre powder brush (for blush/bronzer) and the big powder brush.
For my eyes I have the No7 eyeshadow blend & Contour brush, Real Technique Shading Brush, Sigma E45 and the MAC 224 blending brush

I also had to bring my eyelash curlers, Tweezers and the Nivea Lip Butter!
You never know when you need a Tweezers...

So all the makeup was crammed into a bag and out for a travel. I did put the brushes in a brush roll but all the makeup fitted well into my clear makeup bag.

I did use all these products for the time I was there and I was very happy with my selection, I did not find that I needed anything else so I just wanted to share this with you guys

Better late than never right?

FOTD - Shades of Fall ft. No7 Truffle eyeshadow

Hi Everyone!

I took these photos few weeks ago and I keep on forgetting to post them so before it's too late to post them here is my Shades of Fall :)

I think it is easy to 'update' your makeup bag for a new season, even though right now in Iceland it is not even fall anymore, it's just cold haha.

For fall I think a neutral blush is really pretty and I love this MUA blush in Cupcake, so affordable.
For lips I like darker lips this season and Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Crush is perfect.
A beautiful eyeshadow all over the lid is a great way to look like you put some effort in your make up and I am loving No7 Eyeshadow in Truffle.
I have also grabbed my Rimmel Kohl eyeliner for a smudge to define my eyes a bit more.

Face:
 No7 Stay Perfect Foundation
Bobbi Brown Corrector in Porcelain Peach
Rimmel Wake me up Concealer
FashionistA Pressed Powder

Eyes:
I used Soap and Glory Neutral Palette, the light brown and dark brown shades in the crease , just to make it easier to blend out the other color. Then the creamy white shadow on my brow bone.
For a inner corner highlight I used a tiny bit of the lightest shade in the Walking on Eggshells palette from Wet n' Wild.
Then I used the No7 eyeshadow called Truffle all over the lid.

No7 Eyeshadow in Truffle

This is a brown shimmery color with a hint of gold/bronze warm tones. It suits my green eyes perfectly and I think it makes them stand out. It is a great eyeshadow and blends nicely.

The price is £7 but with all No7 products, you should wait until you can get a voucher and that would be £3 off so I would totally recommend buying this eyeshadow for £4. I think it is a bargain when you use the vouchers.

Then I used my Rimmel Scandaleyes khol eyeliner on the waterline and I also tight lined my upper lashes and just to give my eyes definition I just pressed tiny bit of liner into my lashes.

For a mascara I used my Dior Diorshow Waterproof mascara and it is almost finished so I must hurry and do a post about it because it is brilliant.

For my cheeks I used the contour color from the Sleek Face Form palette, it is a matte and perfect for contouring.
For my blush I used the MUA Cupcake blush. It is a brilliant matte dusty soft peach, but very neutral color, a perfect Autumn blush.

My Lipstick is Revlon Kissable Balm stain in Crush is a great long-wearing shade, it is a deep berry shade and compliments the eyeshadow perfectly.
I really like all the Revlon Kissable balm stain and in America they have brought out a glossy and matte version and I hope that one day I can get my hands on those.
Have you tried them yet?

So that was my Face of the 'day' even though it is couple of weeks old, I still hope you enjoyed it :)

The Sunday Post

Hi Everyone

It's Sunday Evening and I just wanted to blog a little bit, I didn't really want to edit photos or write a review but just a little catch up and a ramble..

Uni is getting more manic every day and I am starting some sort of Final Exam 'boot camp' next week for two of my courses. Apparently it is the way to get you through it with good grade. It is expensive but I really want to go. Would you spend 70 pounds for one course 'boot camp' 5 days intensive studying and going through over ten old exams? These five days are spread over a month.. Well I think I will fork out the money.. for both courses, so goodbye 140 quid :'(

On the other hand Downton Abbey started showing here in Iceland tonight and omgosh.. I am a big Downton fan and I really really really love it! What did you think of the first episode? If you want to talk Downton, come and chat with me on my tumblr here. I personally love Mr Branson, Anna and Mr Bates. I almost cried when Lady Mary cried with Mr Carlson! And that Nany West, I would of killed her right then and there. Seriously, I have so much to talk about but I don't want to leave any spoilers here!
I really recommend this Tv show, it is such a surprise when you start watching it!

Two other shows that I am addicted to right now but will be a subject for another blog post are The only way is Essex and Grey's Anatomy..

I have been going over some of my random photos and sometimes it is so difficult to post on Instagram since I have a horrible phone that does not listen to orders, I have loads of random ones and here is one pretty one of one of my favorite nail polishes :)

Here I am wearing China Glaze, Orange Knockout (Neon) and the glitter on my ring finger is Nicole by OPI, Rainbow in the S-Kylie from the Kardashian Collection.

Also I did a cheeky little MUA shopping the other day and instead of posting a full Haul here on my blog, I posted a picture of the Haul on Facebook, You can check out my Facebook page and like it if you want  :)
Here is what I bought...

From left to right:
MUA matte lipsticks
FashionistA gel liner in Cute Route
FashionstA Shine Stopper, Loose Powder
MUA Matte Foundation
FashionistA Secret Mattifying Primer
MUA Cover All Concealer
MUA Lash Boom

Have you tried any of these products? I have started playing around with them, So far, so good!
I can't wait to try Lash Boom but I have too many mascaras at the moment so I am saving that one.

Enough with the rambling tonight, I am already feeling bit more relaxed so I might go to school tomorrow or just take a day to read and chill, I was at school yesterday (Saturday) and also today so maybe I will just not go.. sometimes you just need days like that right..

Thanks for reading and hopefully you are having a nice Sunday!

Hi Everyone!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month,  Everyone in Iceland stands together and wear pink for a whole day, every store does something pink and everyone wears the pink bow for the whole month. Every year a new Jewelry Designer designs a new bow and this year it is made by ORR, (you can see the whole collection here.) I think these are always so beautiful and its a good way to support amazing cause.

Everyone puts there hands together and it makes me very proud how much everyone is involved. Take a look at this video, it's only 1 minute and you can see what I drove past one morning and I loved it haha

I really love the color Pink and even though I own hardly anything pink (chlothing!)  I though I would share with you, how I wear pink :)

FashionistA Haul - From MUA

H Everyone,

Yesterday I posted Getting ready for Fall (here) and I had my FOTD and NOTD a little bit of clothing as well. I used a new FashionistA eyeshadow called School Days and few other new bits.
I said in that post that I would post my MUA haul today.. and here it is :)

I would not call this MUA haul since I did not buy a single item from MUA but everything I got was from FashionistA. This is a fairly new brand and has been sold in Superdrug for over a year now. I was always very interested in this brand but my nearest superdrug did not stock it and when I went to a large Superdrug I just picked up things that I knew and wanted.
But recently MUA started selling FashionistA on their website (link here) and on top of that everything is 75% off! At the moment you can still buy almost everything from FashionstA full price on the Superdrug website (not sure about in store).
All these products are priced on the normal (a bit high) drugstore end, for example the mascaras are normally £7 or £8 and the foundation is originally £12, (L'Oreal True Match is £10.99 for comparison)

Because of the original price I was very interested to try out this brand. I already bought 3 lipsticks and filled a whole palette of blushers (Haul here)
I did not want to make any reviews or talk about these products until I got more products from FashionistA and until I had tried them all out for a while.
I am still trying them and I can't wait to make few great posts about these products, they are just so pretty and I love the packaging on most of them..

I have had my love/hate relationship with the MUA website and tried to order all of this when there was 30% off the other day. But it did not work and I was very disappointed, but then few days after that offer they announced a free international shipping! I was so happy, I do live in Iceland now and the shipping is minimum £8, So I jumped on, and got all of this stuff.
I paid £25.45 for all this stuff and customs here in Iceland did charge me 2400 krónur and that is around £12. I knew that was going to happen but I was fine with that.

So here is the stuff I got

From Left to Right:
FashionistA Foundation in Nude - £3
FashionistA Compact Powder in Fair  - £2
FashionistA Plumping Lipgloss in Coral Couture - £1.25
FashionistA Secret Gel Eyeliner in 24/7 Style - £1.50
FashionistA Supermodel length Mascara - £1.50
FashionistA Maxi Volume Waterproof Mascara - £1.50
FashionistA Double Take lipstick in Red Carpet - £1.50

This is the reason why I made this order:

I got two palettes and filled them up with six eyeshadows, one blush and one bronzer.
But if you buy 4 eyeshadows/Blushers/bronzers and the palette you can get all that or 7pounds  and save a bit of money there.
So just a quick one.. these eyeshadow/blushers/bronzers come in a single pan and you custom make your own palette, I already have a palette filled with blushers (you can see it in this haul here).

You can change them around when ever you want and the quality is really good.
Each one is 1.65 and the palette is 2

If you have any question about these products please comment below and I will answer them in my upcomming posts.. :)

I can't wait to post reviews and swatches of all my new FashionistA stuff,

If you want to get updates about when I find about offers like free international delivery from some of my favorite websites, go onto My Little Corner Facebook page and like it :)

Thanks for reading!
