Top 10 under £10 - Winter Edition

Hi Everyone

Just a quick update.... my blog address has changed! It happened really quickly but I know that my main traffic has completely disappeared :( but I will in the next few weeks get a new banner and a layout for my blog so I am super excited.

Anyway I am very excited about a new 'series' here on my blog. Every season/few months, I am going to post my top 10 products under £10. These are some of my favourite and even though these are winter edition you can definitely find this post helpful all year around.

I decided to do a full face look with all the products, I love everything about this look. It is a bit heavy with the dark lips but you can always go for a nude shade instead.
I really love how defined the cheeks are even without contour, the Sleek blush is so nice.

Here are all the products that I used:

Face:

For my base I used the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC cream (£9.99). I love this for my base. It is a CC cream so it has some color correction in it but it is also moisturising and that is good for me because my skin gets a bit dry in the winter. It is also great because it gives a medium coverage, you can build it up from light to medium. I know CC and BB creams are more popular in the summer but I really love using this CC cream all year around. It leaves a satin finish to the skin and the lightest shade is perfect for me.

Flawless base is something very popular in the winter time so to cover up my dark circles and lovely blemishes I like the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (£4.49) It gives full coverage and lasts all day. I make sure to use a good eye cream before using the concealer under my eyes to help it blend. The formula is very thick but it is so good.

One blush that I discovered this winter is the Sleek blush (£4.99) in the shade Suede. It is a very natural shade that is perfect to wear when you are wearing a heavy lip. The blush looks a bit dull in the pan but it looks very nice on the skin, it adds so much definition to my cheeks. All the Sleek blushers are super pigmented and easy to blend.

To add a natural glow I use the I heart makeup Goddess of Love Triple Baked Highlighter (£4.99) I do mention this highlighter in my affordable highlighters that will be up soon. (In the next few days) This one is lovely because it gives more glow than sparkle. It has duo chrome sheen to it. I really like this product and I think I want to try the blushers from the same line.

Eyes:

For eyes I used the KIKO Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow in 505 (£6.90) The KIKO shadow sticks are one of my favourite eyeshadow stick formulas. The formula is so blendable but waterproof at the same time. I am currently obsessed with eyeshadow sticks and the Kiko sticks are really good. The shade that I used today all over the lid is so nice and most of the time I wear it all on its own or smudge on the lower lash line. Another affordable eyeshadow sticks are the Barbara Daily which I talked about before (link here) but I'm not sure they are available anymore.

Like I said, I love wearing the KIKO eyeshadow stick all over the eyelid but today I used the L'Oréal Color Riche L'Ombre Pure Eyeshadow in Lumiere 502 (£5.49) to darken up the outer corner and to add a little bit of depth to the look.
It is a beautiful shade that can be build up to a very dark shade. The formula for these shadows are so buttery and blendable. I will post soon swatches of all the shadows that I own from this range. I was so surprised when I tried this shadow, it is amazing quality for a drugstore product.

I love a good felt tip liner and the Makeup Revolution Awesome Double Flick Eyeliner (£3.50) is just awesome. It is super easy to use because it offers two different size of felt tips on each end. One end is very skinny so its great for a natural thin line or just the inner corner and the other end is a bit thicker so great to get the feline flick. The formula is smudge proof on me but not waterproof.

On my eyebrows I have the L'Oreal Paris Brow Artiste eyebrow Pencil (£5.49) It looks like most drugstore brands are bringing out new brow products at the moment. This pencil is great it has wax on one end and then the brow pencil itself on the other one. I find it very easy and quick to use it and the shade is a good match.

Lips:

On my lips I went with a quite new lip product and that is the Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil (£4.99) In the shade 310 Berry Much. This lip pencil is so good. The Berry Much shade is very unique to the drugstore. The formula is nice, very long lasting but do not dry out my lips.

Another lip option that I am obsessed with is actually a shade dupe for MAC Ruby Woo but not the same formula just the shade. It is the L'Oréal Color Riche Collection Exclusive Pure Reds in the shade Blake's Red (£6.99). This range from L'Oréal is a great. There is a red for everyone but I honestly love this shade of Blake's red. It is so classic and the formula is very creamy but lasts for ages on the lips.

Here are some swatches of the products that I have mentioned:

The mascara I used I think is the Maybelline the rocket mascara which s under £10 as well and I love it.

What are your favourite products under a £10? Is there anything that I should try out?

Thank you so much for reading :D

First Impression on the Max Factor Creme Puff Blushes and FOTD ft Laura Mercier Caviar Stick

Hi Everyone!

I spotted the new Max Factor Creme Puff blushes the other day in Boots and just had to try them. I had only seen few pictures of them but no reviews when I bought them. As soon as I came home I found few reviews and some people were saying these were a dupe for the Hourglass ambient light blushes! Well I do have the Hourglass blush palette and now I have three of the Max Factor Creme Puff blushes.

First off, I like the packaging, it is not to big and it is very sturdy.

The product itself is amazing, I wouldn't necessarily say it is exact dupe for the hourglass blushes, however this is probably the closest drugstore formula you can get.
The creme puff blushes are so smooth and feel like silk. The blend effortless into the skin and leave a beautiful glow. First time wearing the nude shade it lasted all day. Sometimes blushes wear off on my cheeks but it lasted a long time.

The shades are amazing. I love love the nude shade called Nude Mauve and I think it is my favorite. Seductive Pink is beautiful and the Gorgeous Berries is kinda like a pinker version of Nars Dolce Vita.

I am wearing the Nude Mauve blush and here are the rest of the products I used for my face.

For my base I used the Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Fluid Touch Foundation, I am very curious about this foundation. (a new drugstore product) I have only used it few times and I really like it. I own the YSL Fusion Ink Foundation and so far the Maybelline is soo similar to it. I really should to a comparison because I honestly can't see much difference. The Maybelline foundation has a medium coverage and leaves a silk/velvet finish on the skin. I did end up blotting my foundation an hour after I applied it because I didn't set it when I applied it first.

I used my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer under my eyes and around my nose and chin.
I added a bit of warmth with the Too Faced Milk Chocolate bronzer and did a light contouring with it as well.

The blush is the Max Factor Creme Puff lush in Nude Mauve, like I wrote about earlier :)

Eyeshadow is the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Color in Burnished Bronze and I just apply it straight on my eyelid and then blend it out with my fingers. I used MAC Vanilla Pigment for my inner corner and I have really been obsessed with it recently. I actually used a tiny bit of my Urban Decay Naked Basic 2 palette to blend the crease out and the lightest shade on my brow bone.

I have been lining my eyes quite heavily recently and I used Makeup Revolution Double Flick eyeliner on my top lash line and then the Too Faced eyeliner on my waterline.
My brow pencil is from Soap and Glory and my current favorite mascara is the YSL Volume Effect Faux Waterproof Mascara.

Again as always... I forgot to take a picture of my lipstick but it is the Revlon matte balm in Elusive.

Well I am loving this look because it is so easy and Hello three day old hair! It's my new thing to curl it and then it just lasts ages and I love it!

Hope you enjoyed this post, let me know what you think? And if you have tried the new blushes what do you think? Do you maybe fancy trying them? :D

September Favorites 2014

Hi Everyone :)

I honestly can't believe September is over, the year is just flying by! I love love Autumn and I am so excited for Christmas. So in September loads of things happened, Uni started again, I went for a weekend trip to Iceland, I went shopping loads of times and bought too many beauty products. I clearly have a problem sticking to a plan but I need to get my act together, not only for my blog but also for uni and exercise, that is the goal for October!! Here are the things that I was using a lot (almost everyday) in September.

The first product is the Too faced milk chocolate soleil bronzer. I bought this bronzer to use as an every day light contour. I have been loving it. The bronzer smells amazing, like chocolate. I own the Bourjois chocolate bronzer and that is supposed to smells like chocolate but this one is so much nicer. I might do a comparison post on the Too Faced and the Bourjois bronzers.
The packaging is super nice and sturdy. I love the consistency of the formula and it applies very smooth on the skin. The milk chocolate shade is the lighter shade and its perfect for me.

Next one is the Nars Light reflecting pressed powder, when I bought this powder I did not believe that it would make any difference to my makeup. I thought it would be a very expensive highlighter. I was so wrong. I use this to set my foundation and apply it all over my face. It gives the most natural glow but keeps my face matte at the same time. There is no way to see the powder on the face. It is so finely milled and smooth. First when touching the powder with your fingers it is very hard and its difficult to get a swatch with your fingers. You have to apply it with a brush. I just take a small face brush (with natural hairs works best i think) and swirl it in the pan and then press it into my skin. It is just so beautiful.

I am addicted to the Laura Mercier Caviar eyeshadow sticks - My current obsession with eyeshadow sticks is never ending and it was just matter of time until I fell in love with these. The formula is fantastic and the stay on all day, the Laura Mercier sticks are bulletproof. The shades I have are called Amethyst and Burnished Bronze and they are so beautiful. I will make a point to wear these, take pictures and post them here on my blog or my Instagram (@margretscorner).

On my lips I have been loving the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet, the formula is great. These are liquid lipsticks and apply very velvety and then dry to a matte texture. They do not dry out my lips at all. The pink shade is a gorgeous pop of color and the red is very beautiful. They are called 05 Olé Flamingo! and 08 Grand Cru. I took Grand Cru (the red shade) with me to Iceland and I loved how it looks on the lips. The swatches really do not do them justice, they are gorgeous.

Last but not least is the Maybelline the falsies - I am pretty sure I have featured this mascara multiple times on my blog now but I have never actually done a before and after (must add on my to blog list!). I am always trying out new mascaras but I make sure I have either Maybelline the falsies or the Rocket to fall back on if the new one is crap. I always use the waterproof version and it really does make my lashes look fuller and longer.

Well that was short September favorites but to be honest September went by so quickly. I really need to step up my game and sort my uni out. I am such a procrastinator (is that even a word?)

Thank you so much for reading :)

February Favorites 2014

Hi Everyone, I don't know what is wrong with me but I have had this post written and pictures taken but somehow I did not manage to post it!
Just ignore the title of the post haha! I will just make a little short post about my February favorites.

But February was long for me, my boyfriend moved back to London so now I am in a long distance relationship that is major change. I was feeling a bit under the weather all through Febuary, I hope March will be much better and in a few days I will be heading myself to London, so excited!

Let's start with the e.l.f Warm Bronzer, this has been on my face non stop since I got it. I either use it as a bronzer to warm up my face or just as my blush but then just using the shades on the right. I think that all the colors are beautiful and last all day on my cheeks.

Same favorite since last month, the Maybelline Falsies Mascara. I did manage to use it this month but to be honest it is getting very dry and I think I will buy it again because it is that good!

I used MAC Soft Ochre almost every day either as a base or just all over the eyelid to cancel out how dark they are.
And again, I have been loving the Max Factor Facefinity Foundation, I just love how easy it is to use it and the coverage is just amazing. I did do a first impression if you want to see it here.

For my eyes I used the Clinique Chubby Stick for eyes in Lavish Lilac regularly. It is just so easy to make a daytime smokey look or as a base for a night time look.

They two eyeliners I have been loving are the Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeline in Stingray (black) and Lionfish (bronze). I used the black on my upper and bottom waterline and then lined the top lash line with the bronze shade. They are so creamy, opaque and waterproof. I have already photograph them separately for a post that is coming soon.

Well thats that!
I am going to write another post now and hopefully I will post it soon :D

Btw.. Am I the only one that is the queen of pushing things back?

Thanks for reading :D

Top Five Friday - Getting ready in a hurry!

Hi Everyone :)
Happy Friday! I decided to go and stay at my dads this weekend to get some studying done. So hopefully this will be a productive weekend with a lot of snacking and reading!

I wanted to share with you guys my top five products that I use when I am getting ready in a hurry. Some days when I have to show up really early in the morning, I just want to do my makeup in few minutes but still look super fabulous. Like I have spent 20 minutes but I actually just spent 5 minutes!

I always pick a foundation that is a good color match and blends easily into my skin. Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation gives a good medium coverage but still has a very glowing natural look.
It just take a minute to blend this foundation into the skin and make it flawless

I am loving the e.l.f Warm Bronzer for a quick sweep all over my cheeks. It gives a great glow and dimension on my face.

I love using the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in On and On Bronze with a light sweep all over the lid. It looks like you took awhile applying your eyeshadow but I use my finger and pad it all over the lid.

Next I make sure I use a mascara that it is easy to apply and gives me volumized lashes in one coat. These days I am loving the Maybelline Falsies mascara. It is fast and gives me lovely lashes.

My main tip to look like you made an effort is a bold lip. I love the Rimmel Color Rush Lip Balm in Rumor Has it. It is easy to apply and the color is so bright and I really think it makes me look like I care haha! The formula is great and even though it is a bright color, it is easy to apply because it is like a crayon.

So as you can see my main thing for getting ready in a hurry are products that are easy to use and products that make me look like I put a lot of effort in.
What products do you guys use when you only have 5 minutes in the morning?

Thanks for reading :)

January Favorites 2014 (late I know...)

Hi Everyone!

I really wanted to get this post up before it is too late and I think I might be too late. My personal life has been so busy and in the last couple of weeks it has changed a lot. But still I want to get back on track on blogging!

January was such a long month! I thought it would never end haha and now February is almost half way through and I feel like it is the 1st of Feb. Here are the products I enjoyed using almost every day through January.

There is a nice mixture between high end and drugstore makeup this month, I used a lot of MAC products since I got soo much MAC stuff for Christmas.I also used the same mascara all month and fell in love with a drugstore lip gloss :)

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer - Amazing concealer, that's all there is to say! I will do like a before and after photo of my dark circles and then you will agree haha. I have been wearing it almost every day and so far I think it will be a stable product from now on.

MUA Intense Kisses in Lips are sealed - Who knew this lipgloss would be this great. I am not a lipgloss kind of person, I prefer lipstick but this lipgloss is so soft and creamy on the lips. It is very pigmented and keeps my lips just very moisturised. Love the pink shade of it as well.

Maybelline Falsies Mascara - I used to have this mascara like two years ago and then I loved it and I still love it. I need to do like a before and after pictures with this mascara. It just makes my lashes look so nice.

Chanel Lipstick in Saga- I love this lipstick, it is just one of the perfect everyday lipstick that makes you look well put together. It feels great and I really love the formula of it.

Elf eyeliner and too faced eyeliner - this eyeliner duo was a stable this month, I did a post just with these two eyeliner and definitely go and check it out here and see the swatches. The too faced eyeliner is so black and waterproof, I just can't get over it!

Mac Mineralized skinfinish Natural - No matter what foundation I wore I used this powder to set it. It gives a natural finish but still keeps it matte. It also gives me a little extra coverage without looking cakey

Mac palette - I loved this palete last month, I did a post on it here where I talked about it. To be fair it is expensive but is very special to me. In February I will post four looks with this palete that I did in January. I wore it non stop for like two weeks. You can get super natural look with these shades or a bit more edgy. The eye shadows are very soft and pigmented. The colors I have are Kid, Naked Lunch, Antique and Satin Taupe.

-
Well, even though it is so late it still are products that I have been loving lately!
I hope to do a update post soon since I have been MIA for like two weeks now

Thanks for reading

My Top 13 of 2013

Hi Everyone..

Yes I am late to the party but at least I showed up! I said to myself: You will post your 13 Favorites of 2013 or you will close down this blog!.. You might wonder why I am soo dramatic, this is a yearly stable post here on My Little Corner, so it is very important.
I have had this blog for few years now but only for the last few months I have been posting regularly, the only thing that has been a stable is my yearly favorite products..!

So now it is time for my top 13 of 2013, these are the products I used the most and I love and recommend all of them. I only included make-up since I would never be able to pick my top skin/body/hair care right now. :)
There is no special order, all of them are my favorite :D

Number 1 -

Bourjois Foundations, if it is the Healthy Mix or the Healthy Mix Serum, I love both of them. This is my second bottle of the Serum foundation but as you can see I am almost finished with the Healthy Mix Foundation.
These foundation have the most beautiful finish and are so amazing. Both of them blend so well into the skin and stay on all day. The Healthy Mix Foundation has a little bit more coverage than the healthy Mix Serum Foundation. But on an everyday basis I love wearing these two.
I have almost the whole range of Healthy Mix products, the concealer and powder and I really think these are one of the top products from the drugstore.

Number 2 & 3

Maybelline The Rocket Volume' Express Waterproof Mascara, I fell in love with this mascara, I got it in the waterproof version and my god it is difficult to remove but with the right eye makeup remover it is no problem. It held the curl all day and gave my lashes Volume and length, I thought it was so black and the brush is so chunky with small bristles that combs the lashes to make sure they doesn't clump.

Dior Diorshow Waterproof, My first ever high end mascara and I really love it. I used it until it dried out. The formula is a bit dry and waxy but I think that helps the curl to hold all day. (that is so important to me, with my straight boring lashes). The brush is very different from the Rocket mascara but it really did work for me. It was so easy to use and even though the brush is quite big it has a tapered end that gets those small lashes perfectly.

Number 4 & 5 -

So I think these are my top three most used lipsticks this year, I only count them as two (a little cheat, I know) but the L'oreal Pink Passion and Maybelline Shocking Coral are so similar, almost the same.

L'Oreal number 371 called Pink Passion, such a beautiful color, this is one of my all time favorite lipstick, I like the formula and the color payoff is incredible. This is called the Intense formula, after it wears off it leaves the most prettiest stain on my lips.

It is a very bright, pink with a hint of coral. It brightens up your face when you wear it.

Revlon Lip butter in Raspberry Pie, this is my go to fall/winter lipstick, I love love love the formula and the color is just amazing.
I would just describe this color as a Raspberry color haha, it is red but not the normal red (makes sense?), it has like a fuchsia tint to it. I just really love this lipstick!

Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Lipstick in Shocking Coral, This was the lipstick I wore the most in the summer, it is very similar to the L'Oreal Pink Passion but the Shocking Coral is a coral based shade with pink as well (where the L'Oreal one is a pink with coral).
The Color sensational lipsticks have a great formula and this is my favorite color from the Vivids collection. It just makes you look like you made ton of effort when you just put on a pretty lipstick.

From left to right:
L'Oreal - Pink Passion (371)
Revlon - Raspberry Pie

Maybelline - Shocking Coral

Number 6 & 7 & 8

These are my favorite blushers this year.
Two of the are from MAC, the first one is called My Paradise and is from a collection couple of summers ago. I was keeping it safe and not using it for ages but seriously why? The shade is gorgeous and I used it so much this year, I try not to put my brush into the gold since it is super pretty and I don't want to completely ruin it. But it has a proper dent on the other side. It is a proper peach/coral shade and just perfect for summer.

The next MAC blush is called Peachykeen, this is very similar to Nars Orgasm but without the chunks of glitter. I have been using this shade alot in the fall and winter, It just gives a beautiful glow and looks great with any lipstick. The formula is nice and it stays on all day.

Benefit Coralista, I bought this blush this summer and since then it has been my go to blush. I think this is the perfect coral blush. I would recommend it to anyone! A bit weird but I love the way it smells and the brush that comes with it, is great.

Number 9 &10 -

I used so many eye shadows this year but my standout are these two palettes, Mainly because both palettes are high quality and have such a great payoff.

The first one is the Wet N' Wild trio in Walking on Eggshells. I love it! the lightest shade is perfect for inner corner highlight and the middle shade is perfect all over the lid. These shadows are so creamy and I am definetly going to try to get more of these eye shadows.

Soap and Glory Lid Stuff in Whats Nude. Talk about a drugstore eyeshadow quad! This palette has three matte shades and one shimmer one. If you need a blending color or a creamy matte highlight this is for you. It is such a basic eyeshadow quad and I love using it.

Number 11 & 12 & 13 -

Maybelline Master Shape Brow in Dark Blonde. I re-purchased this pencil again this year since I can't be without it, I love it, I go trough it quickly since it is very waxy. My eyebrows are quite long so since this pencil is waxy it keeps them in place. The color Dark Blonde is a great match to my shade. I love the fact that it has a spooly to comb through the eyebrow and to blend the pencil in.

Urban Decay Primer Potion, I got this same tube last year for Christmas (2012) and almost every single time I used eyeshadow which is on everyday basis I used this and I still have loads left. I have been using this product for years now and I will always re-purchase it. Now I am actually trying out other eyelid primers and I will try to let you guys know what I think of them, but the primer potion is just such a stable and does the job perfectly!
The Primer Potion has been in all of my yearly favorites! That says alot :)

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. This is a surprise favorite, I didn't realise how much I used it this year. I think this concealer is creamy and pigmented. I love using it under my eyes and around my nose. It just covers everything and stays in place.

So that is it! My Top 13 products of 2013!
I was thinking about doing like a step by step with these products so let me know in the comments if you would like to see them on my face :D

FOTD with first impressions on the Max Factor Facefinity Foundation and a little bit of MAC

Hi Everyone

This is going to be a long post... Today I was trying out a new foundation and I want to share with you my first impression, I was also using my two new MAC products for the first time today and I think they will be included in tomorrows post.

I also really liked the makeup today, I thought it was very fresh and easy so I also have a FOTD included in today's post :)

I might be a little crazy, but I have few unopened foundations since I have a slight obsession with foundations and I like to try out new ones. But I was feeling a bit down today so I was going through my makeup and I figured for a little pick me up, why not try out a new foundation.
In the blogging world everyone talks about the Max Factor Facefinity 3 in 1 Foundation or the Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation. If you didn't know already, these are the same foundation. Covergirl and Maxfactor are the same brand, with most of the same products.
Everyone raves about this foundation and I have had it sitting in my drawers for a long time still unopened. I thought this was the perfect day to try it out.

Let's just start with the packaging, it is a glass bottle which I prefer and has a pump. I have the shade in Warm Almond 45, and so far it is a great color match. Before I bought it, months ago when I live in London, I did match myself and try it out a little bit while I was at work but never used it on my full face.
According to the Boots website they have 6 shades available and I have the second lightest. I remember the lightest one, Ivory was a bit too yellow for me.

Let's ignore the just got out of the shower hair... :)
I have a bit of redness around my nose and my lovely dark circles to cover up. (the picture on the left)
I just pumped the foundation on to the back of my hand, took a brush and dotted it around my face (the picture in the middle) and then buffed it in.
I already had a primer and I think that was not a great idea. This foundation is supposed to act like your primer, foundation and concealer. I felt that it looked a bit patchy on my nose, I do honestly think it was the primer I used before and that the foundation did not work well with it.
However I love the coverage that it gives, I mean it is soo natural but matte at the same time. I feel like it has somewhat of a satin finish and if I was in a hurry I would not have to use a concealer or a powder with this foundation.

I love the color, I have such a pale face and the color matches my neck perfectly.
You can see how it covers the redness on my nose and chin. I applied the smallest amount on my eyelids and my eyelids are so dark and the foundation just made them look normal. I think it is just so natural.

Overall the Max Factor Facefinity Stay Flawless Foundation 3 in 1 had fantastic first impression on me. I will continue to use it for a while and I will let you guys know if all of the sudden I don't like it. I really don't see that happening since I this is a great foundation and it is late in the evening when I am writing this and my foundation is still fairly flawless. I am so impressed.

Then I went ahead and finished the rest of my makeup

The most exciting item I used was my new MAC products from the Magnetic Nude Collection, I picked up a eyeshadow called Sweet Heat and a blush called Autoerotique.
That eyeshadow is so beautiful, I have a tiny bit of neutral brown eyeshadow in my crease and then just the MAC eyeshadow in Sweet Heat all over my lid, I love this eyeshadow.. I wish I could marry it and we could have pretty eyeshadow babies..
Anyway I am also just wearing my e.l.f. liquid eyeliner and the Maybelline Falsies Mascara.
I have the Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeliner in nude in my waterline because I wanted to keep it very soft.

Here are all the products I used:

I did not really need concealer on the rest of my face but I did have to use the Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Peach under my eyes.
To set everything and make it stay all day I used my MAC Mineralize skinfinish Natural in Light. I lightly applied it in my t-zone and to set my concealer.
For my eyelid primer I used Too faced shadow Insurance and then of course the prettiest eyeshadow, MAC Sweet Heat all over the lid.
I am also in love with the blush MAC Autoerotique, it blends out so well and the color is just to die for.

So here is my FOTD, after I finally dried and straightened my hair:

So there you have it, have you tried out this foundation?
