Sunday Obsession #7 - 10 Minutes, 10 Products Face

I love Sundays, I am obsessed over Sundays. I hardly never work Sundays and I love doing nothing, watching TV, catching up with friends, going for a nice cup of coffee and reading. But sometimes the thought of putting make up on a Sunday really drags me down... It is supposed to be a relaxing day, but today I had to go out and run some errands so I grabbed few products and gave myself 10 minutes to do my makeup, It was even under 10 minutes so this easy, quick flattering look is a great everyday look.

This is such a basic look and it really makes me look awake and put together, much better than running out with nothing on :) haha

Soap and Glory Foundation and Primer in A Good Light
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder
Maybelline Fit Me concealer
Garnier Roll-On Anti Dark Circles
Mac Blush in Peachykeen
Mac Eyelash curlers
No7 Eyeshadow in Matte Calico
No7 Eyeshadow in Mink
Maybelline Rocket Mascara Waterproof
Mac Lipstick in Cut a Caper

What products do you grab for a quick look?

Thanks for reading as always

Sunday Obsession #6 - Foundation Days

Over the next few days/weeks here on My Little Corner I will be posting everything about foundations! So from how I choose a foundation, skin types, skin tones and ton of foundation reviews. This will be known as Foundation Days (yayy!!).

So please let me know if you have any questions about foundation and what foundation do you use, what is your skin type and any thing that pops in to mind. You can put your question in the comments below or ask on tumblr here.

Tomorrow I will be posting about how to find your right foundation color and then the next review with photos is on the Maybelline Fit Me foundation - You can 'like' My Little Corner on Facebook to get update when I post these.

Before we start these Foundation Days we all need to know what kind of skin type we are. I am not a doctor, a Make up Artist or a Skin professor, but I do know a thing or two about beauty.

I help women all the time to find potions and lotions for their skin and the first question I always ask is how is your skin, or what is your skin type.

There are 5 main skin types and I am not going too much into each one as this is more of a summary and maybe if i do Skin Care Days I will go into each and every one in details but here are the five main skin types:

1. Normal Skin - Not to dry and not to oily.

2. Combination skin -A combination skin type can me dry or normal i some areas and oily in others such as the T-zone. (T-zone is the nose, the forehead and the chin)

3. Dry skin. - When exposed to drying factors, skin can crack, peel or become irritated. So when it is cold outside you may notice your skin cracking a lot or become more sensitive.

4. Oily skinOiliness can change depending upon the time of year or the weather. Oily skin can be caused or made worse by puberty, stress and humanity

5. Sensitive skin- Sensitive skin can show up as redness, itching and dryness. If you have sensitive skin try to find out what triggers it so you can avoid that factor. Like if a face cream with fragrance causes itchiness, go for fragrance-free creams.

These are the 5 basic skin types. I have Normal Skin but in the winter I become Normal-Dry Skin. So in the winter I use moisturizer for normal-Dry skin.

Every person is different and everyone has different needs. It is a big plus if you have an idea about what kind of skin type you normally are. I have had normal skin, dry skin, combination skin and sensitive skin haha

You skin is always changing and it changes through out the years. When I was younger I used to get an oily t-zone and sometimes in the summer I still do.
When you grow older your skin tends to become dryer and irritates more easily.

Having the knowledge of what skin type you are helps you in finding your foundation and I will go into that tomorrow.

Anyway this has been a long post and Foundation Days are my Sunday Obsession this week, I have bought two new foundations this week and all I have been doing is trying all my foundations out and taking photos and preparing posts for Foundation Days.

Don't  forget to let me know what kind of skin type you are and what sort of foundation do you normally get?

Thanks for Reading

Sunday Obsession #5

This is probably the most random Sunday Obsession up to date... but I can't help what I have been obsessing over.

Last Sunday I did my nails with my new nail polish from China Glaze but since it has a matte finish and I did not put a top coat it started chipping straight away. I woke up on Monday morning and my nails looked bad.
I had to go to work and travelling with nail polish remover is not very smart (if it spills and my nail polish remover bottle is big). It started getting worse through out the day and by the time I got home I was tired and did not feel well so I went straight to bed.
That brings us to Tuesday.. My nails looked awful and I was at work serving people, I was helping this lady find a foundation and using my hands (obviously) it looked bad.
So I thought I will buy a small nail polish remover and cotton pads, but then I looked at the other option that we had...
We had the already soaked cotton pads in a small box which I had tried ad they leave your finger sticky, most of the time you need at least one pad per finger and they are so thin and smell bad... so no I did not want to get those even if they are very handy to have in your handbag.

Then I saw this

It is the Pretty Quik, Instant Nail Polish Remover.
The reason why I picked up this one instead of the Bourjois one that everyone owns is because of the size (the pretty Quik is almost half the size) and the prize is around £2.50 on the Pretty Quik

I dipped my finger in it, twisted and the purple chipped polish was gone, within a minute I did all my nails.

Here you can see the sponge and it has a tiny hole and you just dip your finger in and twist (okay thats weird but..)

You get it right?

And the best thing about the size is that I will carry this in my bag for a quick fix. It is also brilliant to travel with.

So overall as you can see it is a small container/bottle/tub (what ever word makes sense) that has a sponge covered in Nail polish Remover. It removes your nailpolish within 5 seconds (my experience). I also think that it helps remove glitter nailpolishes as we all know that is a true pain.
This does not leave your fingers sticky and this one does not leave your nails smelling like nail polish remover.

I do think though that in the end it will most likley leave your finger a bit dirty but since it is not that expensive you can just toss it out and get another one, but it should last me a while since I tend to keep this as a save me product and for travelling.

Anyway I am off again this week and have few good post in mind, one of them is How to find your foundation shade and I think I will be taking photos for that tomorrow so if you want to know when I post it, you can 'Like' My Little Corner on Facebook :)

Sunday Obsession #4 - New things in

Another Sunday and another Sunday Obsession.. but today I was lazy and working all week with just today (and a lazy Thursday) off I have not taken any photos or written anything... So my post today (it's already 10pm) is just a bit catch up and I just wanted to post my recent purchases that I bought this week.

Working in Boots that has all these pretty things, you are always adding to your wish list and seeing new things so it is difficult not to buy everything.

I just took few photos on my phone of the things I got this week and I have been trying them out but I will try to post better photos in the next few days and do reviews.

I (My boyfriend actually) bought these China Glaze nail polishes at Sally (Beauty supplier) and they were on 3 for 2. They are all neon colors and did you know that neon colors dry matte? I didn't!
The colors are super bright and this photo is crap but I will definitely do NOTD with these colors.
The polishes are Orange Knockout, Flying Dragon and Pink Voltage
I have already worn the Orange one and people either loved it or hated it.
I just painted my nails with the Flying Dragon tonight.

This is my fourth or fifth bottle of the Sally Hansen Dimond Shine Base and top Coat.
I love the Sache Vite top coat but I haven't had the Sally Hasen one in about 8 months and in the Boots magazine they have 25% off all Sally Hansen soo it was on a good price and I wanted to remind myself why I love it :) ad I do...
But I did pick up the wrong one first, The name is the same but it is the Dimond Shine nail hardener and the bottle is matte grey but this says Base and top coat and the bottle is shiny don't make the same mistake as me, painting your nails and waiting ages for the top coat to dry because it is not a top coat...

New goods from Rimmel!!
The Exaggerate Eyeshadow Primer - First time used it today and so far so good. Review soon (promise)
And the Apocalips Lipsticks/lipgloss (liquid lipsticks) in the colors 101 Celestail and 501 Stellar.
I have been using these and they are amazing, I will post good pictures of these because the colors are so great that they deserve it!
(Rimmel was also on 3 for 2)

First ever product from 17.
Boots has these kiosk where you put your boots advantage card in and you can print out these vouchers and I found 17 eyeshadow 50% off voucher so I decided to try the 17 trio in Nude Smoke and I have just been playing with these and they are so pigmented and bendable that I really want to try out more.

This is a big thing... The No7 Facial Cleansing Brush, This is supposed to be like the Clarisonic Mia, which costs over 100 pounds. I still have not justify buying the Mia but this just came in store and is on an offer for £15. Yes 15 pounds, normally it will be around £25.
I have used this brush twice and I might bring it back, I will give it few more days but I feel like it is too rough on the skin and scratches it (I will try to do a review when I have used it a bit more).
I don't know if I like it :S and I bet it is nothing like the Clarisonic Mia but I won't be able to judge that.
Maybe there is a reason for it being so cheap?

And the last and the most boring item is that I finally bought myself a comb. I never really thought that I needed one but I have been trying to keep my hair healthy and when it is wet you should not comb it with brush but with detangling comb, so I bought one from Trevor Sorbie and I like it.

Well this is my new things this week, I have been obsessing over them and I can't wait to use the Rimmel goodies more.

While writing this post, the clock is almost midnight I have eaten more chocolate that you could imagine while writing this and had a really bad thing happen to few of my favorite nail polishes as all the bottle were boiling hot since I was burning a candle on the shelf underneath them.. does that make sense? and I hope I did not just ruin all my favoirte nail polishes... Typical me...
plus OMG I thought I just dropped my hair comb on the floor earlier but I just relized that I dropped my new eyeshadow trio and it is all broken. :( what a night... I should go to sleep

Anyway

Sunday Obsession #3 - Dry Shampoo

What a week this has been. I have been on a holiday from work and all I have been doing all week is relaxing (and watch Downton Abbey). I did not want to do anything special because I am also taking a week off in February and another one i March. So excited for more holidays :)

So when I sat down to do my 'Sunday Obsession' I was not 100% sure what to do. I have not been using makeup all week. Not a lot of new things this month and I have been in some sort of routine lately. Then it came to me. Dry shampoo!

I was talking to my sister the other day about dry shampoo and she was not too sure on how it works and why I use it... Given that I use mine all the time and I just finished my favorite bottle this week, I do know thing or two about them...

So let's start...

What is dry shampoo? It is a powder that is used to clean hair. It removes oil, dirt, and all the nasty things that gets in the hair through out the day.

Why do I use a dry shampoo? Well.. I used to wash my hair everyday but that is no no! So in the last two years I have tried to wash my hair every two days, sometimes every three days.. gross?

It makes your hair healthy ad happy, when you wash your hair everyday you are taking away the natural oils and drying it out.
On the second day I feel my hair is sometimes a bit greasy (no one sees it but me) so all I do is spray the dry shampoo in, rub it and then brush it out! It takes the oil away and looks clean and fresh.

Dry shampoo's are also used to give volume as the powder adds texture.

The brand I have been using and the only brand is the Batiste, I recently got the Trevor Sorbie and I do like that, it has a nice clean scent.

Batiste comes in three (maybe four) sizes. The small one is the travel size which is handy to carry in your purse, you never know when your hair is looking a bit dull.
Then I have the normal size and my favorite, the Original is finished and I might invest in the larger bottle which is massive.

The Batiste comes in so many scents and the first one I got was the floral and flirty, Blush... I can't stand it. The smell is too strong and lingers in the hair for a long time, I need to get rid of that bottle or use it up.
But the clean and classic, Original is a good scent,
It does not linger in the hair and I really like it.

Batiste also has different dry shampoo's for colored hair because sometimes the shampoo leaves a white residue in the hair but I rub it in very well and then brush it out. I am also blonde so hardly no white residue.
When people want Volume they don't brush all the dry shampoo out so a dark hair is better off with a dry shampoo for dark hair.

The top is just like hairspray top and sprays like hairspray.

The other day I bought three of the limited travel sets... why three?
They were on clearance for 25p each pack! True Story!
So now I am experience with the different scents to see if I will go away from my Original.
I might give one of the sets to someone special haha.

It does what it says on the bottle! :)

So that was my Sunday Obsession this week,
Please tell me what you have been obsessing over and if you have tried ad loved Dry shampoo.

'Like' it and I will give you a massive hug

Sunday Obsession #2

This week I have been using the same makeup everyday and one item I have been using has surprised me so much.
I was going through all me makeup last week and pulled out few things so I would start to use them. One of the item was MUA blush shade 2.

The colour is so pigmented and you only need a tiny bit, it does blend pretty well. Just make sure to use tiny bit and then build the colour up if you want more.
The biggest surprise was how long the blush lasted on me. I came home at night after work and the colour was still very vibrant on my cheeks.

And the best thing is that the blush is only £1! (203 krónur) Yes MAU is know for their super affordable products and tomorrow (Monday) there will be 50% off everything AND a free international delivery!

All you have to do is follow MUA on Facebook (here) and get the promo code on Monday morning. The reason for this great offer is that they have reach 50.000 likes on Facebook.
The offer will last few days and like I said 50% off everything so the blush will be 50p (102 krónur) and there is international delivery!!

So I am defiantly gonna get few lip liners and lipsticks (they will be 50p each) and probably the undress eyeshadow palette since it is know to be cheaper version of naked 1 from urban decay.

So I want to share the few products I have from MUA.

Two blushers in shade 2 and 4

They are so pigmented, I just touch them once and this is the color pay off.
Great colors for everyday makeup!

I was worried that the packaging would be super cheap but it is surprisingly steady.

Lipstick in shade 15 (name Juicy) - only £1!

I bought this color in Superdrug in Camden one day and I really like it.

The lipstick is very pigmented, there is nothing amazing about this lipstick but still it is very affordable and I will definitely buy some more tomorrow. It has a very flowery scent to it but it does not bother me at all. Overall it is a nice lipstick.

The packaging is not super sleek but still it is handy that the color of the lipstick is at the bottom so you know what lipstick you are grabbing.

Two single eyeshadows in shades 24 and 16

As you can see from the photo the one in shade 16 broke!
Anyway I picked these up ages ago and yet again they are a pound each.
The one in shade 24 is a pearl eyeshadow and they have a lot of colors in that range but the one in shade 16 is a matt color and there are fewer colors in the matt range.
However the colors are very pigmented but the light pink matt one (shade 16) is very chalky, I don't know if it is because it broke straight away or not.

Here you can see the colors.
The one on the left is shade 16 and the one on the right is 24.
I do like shade 24 and I think it is a beautiful color to put all over the lid.

Shade 24

Shade 16 - Here you can see the broken remains, I should  fix it but it is only 1 pound and I don't really think the color is that unique so I am not sure what to do..
The packaging is maybe the reason why this one broke, it is not as steady as the blushers.

So please check their Facebook page out and do some shopping over the next few days.
I really recommend both blushers and the lipsticks (I am not getting the ones that have the glitter in them, just make sure you look at the photos in a close up).
The eye shadows are very pigmented but do get the pallettes and especially in undressed and heaven or earth.
HERE YOU CAN FIND THE MUA WEBSITE

And as always leave all your comments below and tell me if you have tried any MUA products, what do you think and are you gonna shop 50% off everything and free delivery?

Sunday Obsession #1

I want to try to get my blog in some sort of routine and doing blog posts once a week about things that I am obsessing seems like a great idea.. right?

So what I have been obsessing over this week is Soap and Glory, first of all, this brand is one if my favourite but at the moment I am obsessed over the Sugar Crush line...

I love love love the smell of these products. Soap and Glory always smell great but their main/original smell is just ok to me. (It is called Original Pink) Everyone loves it but I feel it a bit too perfumy. Two years ago I had most of the normal products so I don't hate it but the sugar crush smell is just amazing.

There are other soap and Glory body products that smell amazing and I will mention them soon (the creamy smoothing stuff they got). I am planning on getting more body stuff.
Anyway back to these products that I am in love with....

Sugar Crush, Body Scrub

This is a scrub with smashed brown sugar and sweet lime, almond oil & macadamia grains.

The scrub is just hands down one of the best scrub I have ever used. It leaves your skin so soft.

I use it once or twice a week and there is such a diffrence in my skin now.

Sugar Crush, Body Wash

The body wash has Lime oil, Coolcapsule, Kiwi Juice Water and a skin softening omega-rich veggie oil.... Sounds like something you can drink haha

The body wash is just perfect, when taking a shower I am in heaven because of the smell, I love that it has a pump and I just pump two times on my loofa (lol that thing you wash yourself with) and it is so foamy and leaves you squeaky clean.

Sugar Crush, Body Buttercream

The Body Buttercream has Shea & Cocoa nut balm, Lime and almond oils and Kiwi juice water.

The body buttercream is so moisturizing and leaves your skin soft like a baby's bum, it soaks in quickly and I does not feel greasy at all. It is the formula og butter and cream together that makes it so special.

The reason why I live these products sooooooo much is the smell, everyone needs to smell it... how can I explain the smell.. well this is what they say : Zesty lime fragranced featuring a blend of kaffir limes sparkling lemons and juicccy mandarins complete with a gourmand base of sweet vanilla musk and coconut oil!
So all this lime in mix with the sweet vanilla and coconut.. SO GOOD

It is not the cheapest body care but still affordable, plus you can always wait for 3 for 2 in boots and grab all 3 then... The scrub is 8 pounds

The wash is 6.50 pounds

And the Buttercream is 10.50 pounds.

Anyway this is what I have been obsessing over this week.. (since Christmas)

What have you been obsession over?

Let me know if you like these sort of posts, and if you want to see them weekly on Sundays.
