This week I have been... #1 (Weekly Roundup)

Hi everyone, I want to share what I have been loving this week, I want to try to do these regularly (hopefully a Sunday stable). I am getting myself back on track and I love posts like this so I can look back and see what I have been loving, kinda like a diary :)

Wearing:

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Gel Cream: I posted on Instagram (@margretscorner) that I received this Complexion Rescue Gel Cream. I will do a full review on it soon with before and after pictures, I just need to go and get my eyebrows done before I photograph my face! But so far I like it. It is like a very light tinted moisturiser. I definitely need good concealer for under my eyes, and then I can use this when my skin is good. I think I will use it alot this summer.

L'Oreal Nude Palette in Rose: What a surprise this palette was, I wore it this week and used the matte shades in my crease and done heavy blending and it just looked so good. These shades are beautiful and I think that the quality of these shadows are great. The palette is only £14.99 and it is very versatile. I definetly think it is a great buy!

NYX Butter Gloss in Cremé Brulee: I don't think there is a more perfect nude pink lip gloss than Cremé Brulee. I am not a gloss type, I always prefer lipsticks but there are few lip glosses that are just so easy to wear. The Butter Gloss is so buttery and not sticky at all. I have been carrying it with me in my handbag and grabbing it over all these lipsticks that are at the bottom of my handbag. I am posting a NYX Haul in the next few days where this lip gloss is featured.

Esssie Nail Polish in Status Symbol: I love Essie polishes and I remember wanting Cute as a Button but that one was out of stock so I grabbed the closest shade and that was Status Symbol. It is a creamy hot pink and I love it for summer time.

KIKO Roller Scents Eau De Toilette in Vanilla and Orchid: This has been such an easy item to carry around. It is a roller ball perfume and came out like a month ago with the new KIKO summer collection. I think it was around 10 pounds. I love anything Vanilla so I knew I was going to love this scent.

Topshop Sunglasses: I got these last month and since then I have been wearing them daily. I love the shape to them, they are clear on the side and I just love them.

Drinking:

Tea: I have been having some type of Green Tea in the morning and then the Dr. Stuart teas in the afternoon after my lunch. I have been drinking the Slim Plus or the Detox and I really like them both. The Slim Plus is supposed to be appetite suppressant and the Detox is detoxing but it has Milk Thistle in it which helps detox the liver. I am not a tea drinker but I have found a way that works for me. I have a travel mug from Starbucks that I brew my tea in and it keeps the tea warm for over 2 hours. That gives me the time to sip on it and make sure I finish my cup!

Eating:

Well with me trying to be healthy I have been going to Wholefoods once a week. There are so many things that I am obsessed with in Wholefoods but I always get few of these Pulsin Raw Almond and Raisin Choc Brownie: They are so nice, the Brownie is a perfect Snack with some smoothie or tea in the afternoon. I love it!

Reading:

The Girl on the Train: I bought this book last week and I read it in few days. It is so difficult for me to describe books. I always have been a big reader but I never know exactly how to describe the book because the book might be well written with a good story line or a plot but for me it is always about how I felt while reading, like excited or curious. This book kept me very curious, I just wanted to know what happened to the missing girl. I bought it because it was said to be similar to Gone Girl which I liked and it has a good plot so if you like these type of books then this one is good.

Watching:

I am a TV addict so I will try to keep this short because I watch too many series. This week I have been catching up on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Atlanta and New York... Yes I love them all!! I am most excited at the moment about the New York with Bethenny being back, I just wish that Jill would come back as well haha. I loved the last Beverly Hills season and the reunion was soo good. I just can't belive Yolanda is so ill. I think that there is 1-2 more reunion episodes of the Atlanta one but to be honest they are getting a bit boring now.
I am also watching season 1 of Revenge, I don't know exactly how I feel about them. I was told that if I love PLL then I would love Revenge but I think I need to get onto season 2 to see if I am obsessed or just like it. Definitely tell me your current TV addictions?

I really like a round up of my week like this, I will try to do these at least every other week (hopefully every Sunday) but I am currently blogging on a TV since my laptop screen is still broken.

Thanks for reading

Easter inspired nails :)

Happy Easter Everyone!

I have had a little weird Easter this year, I have just spent it studying but one of my best friend came around last night and we went for dinner and now on Easter day I am at my dad's house for dinner. I am just a bit ill so I couldn't even enjoy dinner and plus I haven't eaten my easteregg yet! In Iceland we have a proper chocolate easteregg and it is filled with candy/sweets, it also has a traditionally Icelandic saying and mine were quite good this year.
Here is a picture of my easteregg before I opened it, this is number 4, I just wanted a 'small' one haha and when I got here to my dads, my stepmum gave me another one number 5. So I have too much chocolate to eat in the next few days!

Image from Instagram @margretscorner

I wanted to do a little nail-art inspired by Easter, not that this is a proper nail 'art'
I used a dotting tool and I think I should make a little post about them because they were super cheap and I love them. Let me know if you are interested in the dotting tools :)

I wanted to use alll pastel colors and I think it looks very cute :)

From left to right:
Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in Rose Hip (This is the base)
Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in Huckleberry
Essie in Go Ginze
Topshop in Bees Knees

I have already planned my next few posts and the next one is a FOTD where I done a little purple on my eyes, but kept it very natural :)

Thanks for reading and if you have a blog, please leave your link in the comments because I love finding new blogs to read.

Mani-Monday #8 Essie Bikini so Teeny

Hi Everyone :)

Second week of school and things are already getting busy, I am not sure how I will manage with everything since I might be starting a second part-time job but sometimes you just have to push through! right?

But anyway Today's Mani-Monday is a recent purchase from Fragrance Direct, (Haul here.)
I have been lusting after this color for ages, It did not disappoint me at all! I love this color,
This color is from the Summer 2012 collection but I manage to get it for 1.99 pounds!
Bikini so Teeny is a beautiful baby blue with a very very subtle silver sparkles, which gives the color a beautiful shine.
I was wearing this color straight for 5-6 days and it barley chipped, I did not even use a top coat!
I am just in love with this nail polish and I am sure I will be wearing it loads next spring.

I really really like this Nail polish
My first impression of Essie few years ago, was when I bought a pale nude pink color, it was not Fiji but another color which I can't remember but it was crap! so I haven't bought any Essie nail polishes until I got three the other day, and I am so impressed with the formula on this specific color! it was sooo long lasting and opaque.

Has anyone tried this color? Or any Essie nail polishes and really liked it? give me suggestion of what colors to get :)
Have a great week everyone

Fragrance Direct Haul - Essie, OPI and Rimmel

Hi Everyone :)

Few weeks ago I was browsing on Fragrance Direct and found few amazing deals and I just had to have them!

I am in Iceland now and there is restriction on sending nail polishes but Ethan just came back to Iceland yesterday and he brought my stuff with him in his suitcase.
I also have a MUA haul and I will post that tomorrow..

First I ordered three Essie Nail polishes and they were £1.99 each. (link here)

The Colors I got were Bikini So Teeny, Madion Ave-hue and Go Ginza

I also got two OPI nail polishes and they were £3.99 each. (link here)

The Colors I got were If You Moust You Moust (from the Minnie Mouse collection) and Did You 'Ear About Van Gough? (this polish is from the Holland Collection)

Then there were the Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick for 99p!! These are amazing I already have three of them so I ordered three more :) (link here)

The colors I ordered were Rouge, Violet Pop and Pink Chic

If I would have bought everything full price I would have paid £66.84. That is alot of money!! £66.84!!! But I paid £16.92 plus £1.99 for postage and packaging.. Soo I paid all in total £18.91.. What a bargain! right??

There are so many great products on this website, I love the Rimmel lycra Pro nail polishes and these are just old packaging but they are the same as the Kate Nail polishes for Rimmel. (link here) Even some of the colors still have the same names.

Have you ever order from Fragrance Direct? This is my second order from them and I have never been disappointed, I totally recommend this website!

Anyway...

Thanks for reading :)

Three Products = Complete Look

I had to go the other day and buy a present for my sister.

I am a firm believer in books for everyone, even people that don't read, you can get them a book about their hobby, or something.

But since she is back in Iceland it had to be something small so of course I bought her make up, like last year.

I will be going home in May and then she will get more gifts (it is her graduation) and of course kisses and cuddles.

So while I was in Boots, I couldn't pick one product, so I picked three...

And these are my three products that I think make a look!

So how to transfer your look, with three products, day time and night time.

All you need is a eyeliner, lipstick and a nail polish.

For me, when I complete a look, I always make sure my eyes are popping, and I feel that a bit of eyeliner does that.
In the end you always grab something to put n your lips, if it is a lipstick, lipgloss, or just a lipbalm. It really does complete the look.
To take a look to the next level, for me I love my Nail polish, I have got them in every color so I think for a night out, a new color on your nail is a great way to glam your self up.
Or on a sunday night, dreading monday... just put on a pretty soft color for the week.

With a basic face, all you need to use are these three products and in my opinion you get an instant glam.

So basically I picked my favorite products to show you guys.

Day time: this is all about minimal make up. Soft pretty look that suits everyone.

Eyeliner: A soft pencil, kohl eyeliner, that can be smudge and softened.
Lipstick: Nude/Pink lipstick, something to put on your lips and makes a different without overpowering the look.

Nail polish: For this spring of course pastel colors are perfect for the day look.

Essie: Angel food
Models Own: Bloo Boo (NOTD coming soon)
O.P.I:  Chapel of Love

Lipstick: Avon in pout (as seen here)
Eyeliner: Black Kohl by Topshop, a very soft smudge eyeliner.

Night time: I like extreme make up but I want to keep it wearable, I picked products that gave me a polished look.

Eyeliner: For a night time look, a liquid liner is perfect
Lipstick: A pretty red is a basic, if you are not excited about red lipstick, a red lip stain is a great option as well
Nail polish: It is super easy to go with a black color but I like darker colors.
Purple is perfect and that dark burgundy color is amazing as well. And you can even go a bit on  trend and go for a bright strong color like the bright blue from China Glaze.

China Claze: Frostbite

Ciaté: Wait until dark

O.P.I. : Midnight in Moscow

Lipstick : Rimmel Lasting Finish in Alarm 170
Eyeliner: Rimmel Glam eyes liquid liner

This is just my basic day and night look, and if I am running home from work and we are going out, I use the liquid liner over my smudge eye kohl and then put the red lipstick on and I am ready!

I know it takes a bit more than a minute to change your nail polish but still, I love nail polish and I think that having a clean looking nails with a great color is what makes you glam.

What are your three products that gives you an instant glam?
