Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot Gift Set

Hi Everyone :)

Today I want to talk about one of the best Christmas gift sets available in stores now. I am not going to do many posts about Christmas sets (but definitely about some Soap and Glory and Nars sets) but there are few amazing sets out there that I think are must have.

I bought this set last month when it came out and I have been playing around with it for few weeks now so I can definitely tell you what I think about the set.

The set I am going to talk about today is the Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot gift set. This is a set with some of Benefit best selling box blushes.

You get six shades and the cream highlighter called Whats up! and the highlighter comes in a little plastic container and you can remove it and because it is in a little plastic container it won't dry out or get nasty with all the other powders.

The set comes in a tin container and is very sturdy. I would have loved a mirror inside the lid and that would have made it the perfect palette.

The set is not too big, however it is not tiny and I need to find a good place where I can store it.

Normally a full size Benefit box blush contains between 5g-8g and in this set you get 4g-6g of each product, Rockateur is actually 5g and that is the same amount as if you would buy it full size as a box blush. On it's own the box blushers are £23.50 and believe it or not this whole set is only £29.50!

The shades are:
Dandelion: Cool toned light pink
Bellabamba: Warm coral pink with golden shimmer
Sugarbomb: Peachy pink shimmering shade
Hoola: Matte bronzer - great for contouring
Coralista: Shimmering Coral
Rockateur: Dusty shimmering rose

I already own a full size Coralista and Rockateur but I honestly think this set is worth getting. It is a great set for anyone that loves makeup and it gives you loads of option. Hoola is a great bronzer that you can also use to contour. I have been trying each shade out and none of them have disappointed me.
Sugarbomb is not super pigmented but it is great to add some glow to your cheeks.
it.

This is definitely a set to add on your wish list or just go straight to online and get it yourself! :D

Max Factor Excess Shimmer Eyeshadow + FOTD

Hi Everyone

I saw a blog post about these new eye shadows few days ago and all of a sudden I was in Boots taking advantage of the 3 for 2 offer... Recently I have been obsessed with cream eye shadows so I knew I had to try these out.
I picked the two most neutral shades out of the range but there are four other shades available.
I am talkin about the Max Factor Excess Shimmer Eyeshadows.

The texture of these are very different from the Maybelline Color tattoo (my first thought when I saw them was: yess more drugstore cream shadows!).
The texture of these are like a gel. They are very smooth to apply and easy to blend.
They are called excess shimmer and they are very metallic shimmer shadows, but not too much shimmer.
The packaging is a glass jar and you get 7g of product.

The pigmentation of these are great but when you blend them out with your fingers it sheers them out a bit. You can build them up, like I did but I did get some creasing (as you can see in the picture below). I used the Urban Decay Primer Potion but I still got a little creasing. I have really oily eyelids but most of the times a good primer does the trick.
I think that these shades are perfect for everyday and because it is so easy to blend them  and you can use them in a rush.

I also used the Urban Decay naked basic 2 palette on my eyes. I used the lightest color (Skimp) as a brow bone and inner corner highlighter, then I took the warm brown shade (Cover) and applied a tiny bit to help blend the shadows out in my crease.
I think that the Max Factor eyeshadows are also great for a base.

The makeup for the rest of my face:
Base: I used my Dior Nude foundation, I have been eyeing up the Dior Star foundation so if anyone has tried it let me know if it is worth it. The Dior Nude foundation is actually really good, it gives me a natural medium coverage. It dries to a glowing satin finish. I used one of my favourite concealers, Nars Radiance Creamy Concealer. To set my foundation and concealer I used the Nars Light Reflecting Pressed setting powder. (oh this powder... more on that soon)

My contour and blush are from the new Nars palette, the holiday collection 2014, the palette is called Virtual Domination. The bronzer is called Laguna and the blush is Deep Throat, I own a full size of the blush and it is one of my all time favorite blush

Mascara and eyeliner are both from L'oreal. The mascara is discontinued but I had a brand new one stacked away and now its almost finished and that makes me sad! haha
The eyeliner is a new one from L'oreal called So Couture Super Liner. So easy to use because the tip is very slim and glides on.
I forgot to take a picture of the eyebrow pencil but it is the new Soap and Glory Brow Archery and the new version of the pencil is amazing.

The lipstick I am wearing is the Nars Audacious lipstick in Vera

Overall I like these shadows and I think they are definitely worth the £7.99 and now they are currently on the 3 for 2 offer at Boots and Superdrug :)
Have you tried them, what did you think?

Saturday's Autumn FOTD with Kiko Water Eyeshadows

Hi Everyone, I was playing around with some Kiko eyeshadows I bought few weeks ago. I am definitely going back to get more because these are amazing.

The shadows are the Kiko Water Eyeshadows, you can either use them wet or dry. I used them dry today but I am definitely going to try them wet as well.

They are so soft, creamy and blend like a dream. I love the pattern and the 3D effect, just look how pretty they are! The packaging is sleek black and they have a little mirror in the lid which is always a bonus.
I got the shades 203 Burgundy and 205 Chocolate.

I used Burgundy on the inner half of my eyelid and then the chocolate shade on my outer half. I just blended the shadows like crazy and had a little help from my Urban Decay Naked Basic 2 for my highlighter on my brow bone and inner corner, also the shade Cover to help blend the shades together. I used the Chocolate shade on my lower lash line to give it a smokey look.

The rest of the products I used:

I used the Max Factor Facefinity All Day Flawless Foundation (review here) and the Dior Skin Star Concealer, I am still testing the concealer out, I will let you what I think about it in a post soon. To set my foundation I used the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder, I am really on the fence about this powder, I don't know if it is worth the money :/ I am still playing around with it so, again I will let you know how I am getting on with it.
For my blush I used MAC Blush All Day and I love this natural/mauve/dusty blush for Autumn.
I used the MUA Luxe felt tip liner on my upper lash line and a Nars eyeliner on my waterline.
I used the L'oreal eyebrow pencil to fill in my brows and I really like this pencil.

My lipstick is my current favorite nude lip and that is the YSL Rouge Volupte in number 1 Beige. Honestly one of the prettiest nude color I have ever used.

I forgot to take a picture of the Naked Basic 2 palette but like I mentioned earlier in this post I used couple of shades to highlight and blend the eyeshadows. My mascara is also missing from the picture but I used the Maybelline Falsies mascara.

So here you have it :) Autumn inspired FOTD

Thanks for reading and if you have any great recommendations for great Autumn eyeshadows please let me know :)

Budget Buy: Barbara Daly Longwear Eyeshadow Sticks

Hi Everyone :)

I stumbled up on a blog post a while ago about these amazing eyeshadow sticks that were only £3 and you could get them at tesco! These are the Barbara Daly Longwear Eyeshadow sticks.

I found my way there and picked up two shades of the four available. There was a black shimmery shade and a light champagne shades that I didn't pick up.
The shades that I got are Shimmer Sand (rose gold) and Bronze Gold.

In few words.. these are amazing...

Want me to explain why:
First off the packaging is so classy, really looks like it is worth a lot more than £3.

The product itself is really good. It is very creamy and easy to blend out and when it sets on my eyelids (which are oily and I have to use a primer with any product) the shadow does not crease.

The rose gold shade called Shimmer Sand is my favourite (I think) it makes my eyes look very green.

The bronze gold is a bit smokey when I blend it all over the eyelid and I love it because you can easily build up the color.

In the last few months I have been trying loads of different eyeshadow sticks and these are the top budget shadow sticks you can find.

I did speak with a Tesco employee and he said that the BD range is changing and products are disappearing slowly off the shelves so if you are interested in these, go into the next Tesco extra or order them online here, the only shade I managed to find online now is the black shimmering shade.

Here you can see me wearing one of the shadow sticks

I am wearing Shimmer Sand all over the lid and just smudged it with my fingers. It is so easy to apply and is perfect for a quick everyday look. I really love eyeshadow sticks these days and I will do a post soon on more of them. I think these definitely compare to higher end shadow sticks and the shades are really beautiful.

Thanks for reading and let me know what your favourite eyeshadow stick/cream shadow is?(I already have way too many haha)

September Favorites 2014

Hi Everyone :)

I honestly can't believe September is over, the year is just flying by! I love love Autumn and I am so excited for Christmas. So in September loads of things happened, Uni started again, I went for a weekend trip to Iceland, I went shopping loads of times and bought too many beauty products. I clearly have a problem sticking to a plan but I need to get my act together, not only for my blog but also for uni and exercise, that is the goal for October!! Here are the things that I was using a lot (almost everyday) in September.

The first product is the Too faced milk chocolate soleil bronzer. I bought this bronzer to use as an every day light contour. I have been loving it. The bronzer smells amazing, like chocolate. I own the Bourjois chocolate bronzer and that is supposed to smells like chocolate but this one is so much nicer. I might do a comparison post on the Too Faced and the Bourjois bronzers.
The packaging is super nice and sturdy. I love the consistency of the formula and it applies very smooth on the skin. The milk chocolate shade is the lighter shade and its perfect for me.

Next one is the Nars Light reflecting pressed powder, when I bought this powder I did not believe that it would make any difference to my makeup. I thought it would be a very expensive highlighter. I was so wrong. I use this to set my foundation and apply it all over my face. It gives the most natural glow but keeps my face matte at the same time. There is no way to see the powder on the face. It is so finely milled and smooth. First when touching the powder with your fingers it is very hard and its difficult to get a swatch with your fingers. You have to apply it with a brush. I just take a small face brush (with natural hairs works best i think) and swirl it in the pan and then press it into my skin. It is just so beautiful.

I am addicted to the Laura Mercier Caviar eyeshadow sticks - My current obsession with eyeshadow sticks is never ending and it was just matter of time until I fell in love with these. The formula is fantastic and the stay on all day, the Laura Mercier sticks are bulletproof. The shades I have are called Amethyst and Burnished Bronze and they are so beautiful. I will make a point to wear these, take pictures and post them here on my blog or my Instagram (@margretscorner).

On my lips I have been loving the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet, the formula is great. These are liquid lipsticks and apply very velvety and then dry to a matte texture. They do not dry out my lips at all. The pink shade is a gorgeous pop of color and the red is very beautiful. They are called 05 Olé Flamingo! and 08 Grand Cru. I took Grand Cru (the red shade) with me to Iceland and I loved how it looks on the lips. The swatches really do not do them justice, they are gorgeous.

Last but not least is the Maybelline the falsies - I am pretty sure I have featured this mascara multiple times on my blog now but I have never actually done a before and after (must add on my to blog list!). I am always trying out new mascaras but I make sure I have either Maybelline the falsies or the Rocket to fall back on if the new one is crap. I always use the waterproof version and it really does make my lashes look fuller and longer.

Well that was short September favorites but to be honest September went by so quickly. I really need to step up my game and sort my uni out. I am such a procrastinator (is that even a word?)

Thank you so much for reading :)

My new MUJI storage

Hi Everyone, hope you are having a good Monday!

I wanted to share with you the new Muji storage I bought the other day. I was having a little look around in Selfridges, alone and ended up buying all this storage. I had to carry it home along with all my other shopping and going on the tube in rush hour... Picture that haha...

I bought six pieces all together, two of each one. The first one is the 5 drawer box, next is the  2 drawer narrow and the last one is the three section box (I could not find the link for that one)

This is how it looks all put together :)

I haven't sorted everything out completly, I have ideas about how to organize it and I am getting excited about it. I have a lot of makeup. When I went back to Iceland I gave my sister a full bag of makeup and left her with stuff to give to my friends. I will be going through my makeup and trying to condence it but I really like everything I have.

Here are few pictures of the Muji storage.

I have one draw with my high end lipsticks. I got my YSL and Canel lipsticks there because they are my favorite. I recently bought those Topshop Lipsticks but I haven't tried them yet.

Here are some of the things I recently bought. I am very excited to play around with these and I will let you guys know how they are.

I have one very messy Nars draw. I will do a Nars collection soon since that is one of my favorite brands at the moment.

I dedicated two draws to MAC :)

This is the smaller set of draws, it is deeper and therefore perfect for foundations. My benefit box blushes and MAC paint pots fit perfectly in these set of draws.

This is the overview of the three section box, there is no order here. I have random eyeliners, mascaras and concealers in there and I need to sort it out soon.

So then I need to finish sorting out the rest of my makeup, currently it looks like this:

I have two big draws, the bottom one is very deep and I need to find away to organize everything in a better way :)

In the top draw I have this kitchen draw divider and little boxes, that just needs to be tidied up but I like it.

The bottom one is just filed with boxes with makeup like lipsticks and foundations. I have been playing around with this draw and I might have found a way to use it so everything has its own place.

Thanks for reading and let me know what is your favorite way to store your makeup.

I might do an update on this in couple of months when everything is more tidy and perfect :)

The Sunday Post... Late August Favorites

Hi Everyone, it's getting a bit late and I can't stop watching The Real Housewives of New Jersey. I forgot that it had started again so I am already on episode 6 this evening. I just can't stop watching! Am I the only one that is obsessed with The Housewives??

I wanted to post my August Favorites the other day but I just kept on forgetting to write it. I decided to throw it in a little Sunday Post this evening :)

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation - I have been on a little Nars craving lately. I picked up those foundation after falling in love with the concealer. There is a lot of hype around this foundation and I will admit that I love it. It is so natural but good coverage. I think the shade is perfect for me and it blend out so perfectly.

Nars Radiance Creamy concealer - This was one of the first recent Nars purchase and I fell in love, it is very creamy but not so creamy that it creases under my eyes. It conceals almost everything and lasts all day.

I will do a full review soon with a before and after picture so you can see how the foundation and concealer performs :)

MAC 217 Brush - I just love this brush, it is a must have. I use it to blend out harsh edges. For everyday I use one eyeshadow all over the lid and then blend it out with the 217. The brush is also amazing with cream shadows.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow stick in bluffing - This has been the easiest thing to use in the mornings when I am in a rush. I just love this shade, a beautiful metallic light taupe. It does crease on me if I don't use primer (everything does). I still love it and it makes a good shadow base.

L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Mono Eyeshadows - I have already done photos for a post only about these, just a little heads up, these are amazing. Such a great pigmentation and the shades are gorgeous. The post will be up next week :)

Bumble and Bumble Creme De Coco Shampoo and Conditioner - I am not a person that spends a lot of money on shampoo and conditioner, I did pick these up in a recent Space NK trip and I couldn't be happier. My hair feels so soft and healthy since I started using them. They smell amazing and they leave my hair super shiny.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water - Every brand has one of these out at the moment. I have tried few from the drugstore and the Garnier micellar water is the best one. It is a great makeup remover and does not leave a sticky residue on my skin.

The Body Shop Camomile Waterproof eye makeup remover - I wear waterproof mascara on daily basis so a good waterproof makeup remover is so important. The reason why I like this one is that it feels soothing. It is a great eye makeup remover but the soothing factor is so good.

MAC Perfume - I have been enjoying this perfume all through August, I am crap at describing scents but I added a perfume collection onto my blog ideas and I might try to describe some of the ones I own. This one is great for every day and smells a bit like sophisticated and girly at the same time.

Well that was it for todays post, hope your week will be good and don't forget to follow the blog on bloglovin :D

Mani-Monday... Topshop - Profound

Hi Everyone

I found one of my favorite transitioning, summer to autumn, shade ever. It is a mix between a dusty purple, lavender, nude and beige. At least that is what I think. It is not too bright or too nude. I just loved how it looked with my skin tone

I am a big fan of the Topshop Nail polishes and I think for five pounds you can't go wrong. It is impossible for me to pick up one when I go into Topshop Oxford Street, there are just way too many shades available so the other day I picked up three new one. The one I am wearing today is called Profound.

Topshop - Profound
You can find it here :)

I think the formula of the Topshop nail polishes is opaque, fast drying and long lasting. I normally use top coat and I will probably do a post soon on my two favorite top coats :)

The brush is wide so it is easy to apply, I always paint my nails in two coats, even if the polish is very opaque, it is just a habit. Honestly I think nail polishes last longer if you do the first coat really sheer and then the second a little thicker. Anyway back to this nail polish, it was very easy to apply.

I just can't get enough of this shade, I haven't seen a shade quite like this, it doesn't look much but in person the shade is gorgeous.

If you have any great summer to autumn shades to recommend to me, please let me know :)

Thanks for reading

The Sunday Post... Ramble and Update

Hi Everyone :)

I want to get back to blogging and what can be a better way than a ramble little Sunday Post.

Well I am back in London and I have been here almost 4 months, the summer is over and I can't believe how quick it went by. My favorite season is here and I can't wait for September/October months.

I am going to do a little catch up on Sundays here on my blog, I like looking back and seeing what I have been up to (full of myself much?)..  For the first week of September I have been trying to get more organized and healthier. I am trying to make little changes here and there. The week didn't start off well since I was stuck ill at home, I was off work until Thursday, so a slow start. I did manage to go out for a run three times (my little goal is to go at least two times a week) and until Friday I was eating fairly healthy through the days. But this weekend I have been on a little binge, for example, today (Sunday) I was working and I got to the shop and someone had smashed the window at work so guess how my day started...
On my lunch I got myself a magazine (Company of course with Ferne Cotton on the front) and sat down in one of my favorite places Harris and Hoole.

Well I can promise you that I really enjoyed it :) - That Cake!

One thing that I have been putting off all weekend is looking at my Uni stuff, basically my Uni started last Monday but since I am living in London attending Uni in Iceland while working a daytime job (complicated enough?), it has been difficult to sort everything out. I was registered in all courses that I took last year so I spent most days on the phone or sending emails last week. I officially got registered to the right courses last Friday so tomorrow I am already a week behind and I need to spend the next few days catching up (and buying books).

One thing that I haven't been forgetting is shopping... this is my latest Instagram picture (@margretscorner)

I am ashamed of myself... and a little proud (There is more than this)
As you can see I have 'few' new products that I need to use and I will tell you all about it. I also have few great ideas that I want to post. (MAC lipstick collection and one brand FOTD) If you have any other ideas let me know in the comments :D

I am pretty sure I might be going on a spending ban since me and Ethan are going on a little trip soon (I am so excited!). I have never actually banned myself from spending money haha it is a bit silly but I have turned into a little shopaholic recently.

And here are few of my most recent makeup Instagram snaps :)
@margretscorner

I can't wait to get into next week, even though Ethan is pretty sure I have a fever right now and honestly I have the worst eye infection ever (So gross) but tomorrow I start work at 3 pm, I am going to organize my Uni and post tomorrow blogpost up :D

Hope everyone is doing well :)

Thanks for reading this random ramble and don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin (btw I hit 100 followers the other day, more on that soon! <3 font="">
